We first visited The Granary over 30 years ago and we still love it. The food is fresh and delicious. The Granary is clean with good social distancing. The staff are friendly and attentive. It’s a lovely place to eat if you are ever in this book town.

Stopped off here this morning for the most delicious breakfast. This place is so lovely I would highly recommend a visit - we sat inside the beautiful building and also indulge in their delightful cakes - all homemade which are amazing along with the perfect cappuccinos - the best coffee in Hay. I have read previous reviews but can only assume that these kinds of people lost the capability to function with other human beings as the staff here are the sweetest and the most accommodating, nothing seems too much, we did have one fussy eater in our group and couldn’t fault the customer service from them when we wanted to chop and change. I would highly recommend a visit here if you ever pass through Hay.

Called in on a Monday late lunchtime when it was not that busy. The order was taken promptly but the food took a long time to arrive ( maybe 30 mins).
When it arrived my wife’s baked sweet potato was raw on one side, we have no idea how that is even possible. I had a beef and ale pie which in itself was not bad but it came served with a piece of roast fennel and some roast cauliflower both of which were browned but not cooked so they were tough and woody and inedible, why the cook had put them on the plate is anyone’s guess but they can’t have tasted or tested them or they would have realised they were plain wrong.
The ‘waiter’ came and asked if we had finished but did not question the large amount of food left on our plates and did not remove them even though we said we had finished. We had ordered a cake which did not turn up and when we queried this they denied we had ordered it so we just left rather than argue.
One to avoid if you have a choice.

We'd been to the Granary before and enjoyed a nice lunch. Called in for coffees today and both the Cappuccino and Americano were some of the worst we've had for a long time. Shame, we liked this place.

Me and my partner visited here for breakfast this morning. We have tried to eat here before and this time managed to get a table. Clear Covid measures in place. Friendly service and a lovely breakfast. I opted for Full English which was great using local produce (the local butcher delivering while we were ordering) and my partner also really enjoyed her vegetarian breaky which were both really good value for money. Will definitely return!
