We stayed for two nights, and we agree and disagree with some of the other reviews. Staff from check in to check out were friendly and helpful. The lady who served us at breakfast was 'the best'. Yes the carpeting and decor upstairs left a lot to be desired, but the most important things I look for, are good staff, a comfortable bed and pillows, clean white towels and lashings of hot water and we got all these. Yes the heating needs sorting, one radiator not working and the towel rail probably should be risk assessed as it was boiling hot and located too close to the toilet seat. Opening a window lowered the room temperature. There was an excellent choice for breakfast and could not find any faults. The location was ideal, being strangers to Wolverhampton we found the centre a short walk and the hotel was well placed for the two reasons we came to the city, for Monmore Green Greyhound racing and Horse racing at Dunstall Park. Plenty of car parking with access from two roads. If we were coming again would definitely stay here.

Stayed here for 3 nights this week as I was working away from home. Hotel itself is ok, staff were very friendly, particularly the restaurant staff. My room was clean and comfortable, however there was no way to turn the radiator off and it was boiling hot in there. The hotel was also VERY noisy, especially at night. I ate in the restaurant once. The food was nice, but not a lot of choice so didn't bother again. Restaurant staff were lovely though. Went to the pool on a couple of occasions and the water was freezing cold. It was also very dark inside. I found the sauna and steam room to be OK though. The hotel itself it a bit out if the way, you would really need to drive to get into the centre of Wolverhampton so if staying on your own it was a bit boring. There is a Waitrose across the road and a McDonald's and KFC, but not much else close by.
I haven't booked to stay again, but mostly for the fact it is too far away from where I'm working. If I was only staying one night, I may consider staying again.

Really friendly, the staff are very pleasant and helpful and very hard working, the room was neat and clean, great value for money. Don't expect five star luxury for what you pay, breakfast and evening meal were fine, and a nice little bar area.

You would have heard the phrase S&#t sandwich in management speak, so here goes.......Kronenberg larger in the bar was tremendous and the food was good....but a lot of rooms are either sauna hot or freezing cold as they need new radiator valves and the management apparently won't pay for them. I had to move rooms which for the sake of a few quid isn't on. The staff I met were very good, although the whole place is tired, the beds n showers all worked very well. The location is on a main road but no road noise was heard. The bar did lack atmosphere however the staff were top class. I hope it gets sold and modernised as the staff deserve better.

Many thanks for taking the time to post a review. Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience that had suffered due to having to move rooms. Replacing heating valves is not an easy task due to the age of the system, however we do try to do these as much as we possibly can. I am pleased that you found the staff to be friendly and that you found the bed and shower to be good. I hope that we will have the opportunity to welcome you back to the hotel again in the future.

Leisure facilities were limited and some even broken. Dinner menus weren't a variety and quality was average. Breakfast was worse. Limited options menu stated some items which weren't avaliable. However members of staff were delightful just the standard of food and facilities.
