This is definitely a cut above the usual pub roasts (which are so often very disappointing). We were a table of 3 and had the roast beef which was cooked to perfection along with the vegetables. The crispy parsnips were amazing, and wolfed down by husband who hates parsnips! The house red is very good and the landlord knows how to serve a really great gin and tonic. The decor is simple and chic and this is perhaps the only pub in Wallingford that doesn't have the depressing Sky Sports banner outside! We had a lovely time here, enhanced by little Misty a very cute dog.

We had a one night stay here and found the pub to be very friendly with a good range of beers and wines. The room was very nice. It was clean and comfortable although we had to climb a few stairs! The staff were all very friendly. Overall I would happily stay here again.

Room Tip: There are stairs to all of the rooms I believe...

Stayed here for one night on Monday 29th Jan, very friendly staff and customers in the bar area, cracking pint of Guinness, top mark's.
I stayed in room I on the top floor, Great room long climb but worth it, clean tidy and spacious, Whoops I did drop the free shower gel in the bath and cracked the jar, my fault !!!
By the way Shower lovely and hot, clean towels, nice shower gel, if you don't drop it !!
Down side: No Breakfast, Up side easy walk into town and get something there.
Down side: No food on a Monday night, up side walk into town and get something there !
I would certainly stay here again so well done Coachmakers

I stayed here for a business trip in October, the hosts are wonderful and welcoming and my room was functional and comfortable.
If you're on a business trip to howbery park, it's an ideal place to stay, as it's an easy pleasant walk to work. In the evening, you are in easy walking distance from all restaurants and bars in town, or you can just come back from work and enjoy a drink and an amazing meal in the hotel (food was excellent).
They don't do breakfast but there are plenty of places down the road so it's not a problem.
I've stayed in many places in wallingford for work, but this is definitely my favorite for the comfort, welcome and perfect location
