We have eaten here a few times over the past 6 years I believe it’s recently changed hands and that is for the better! We where here last week and again on Saturday. Food was fabulous both times and the staff were brilliant. We had our kids with us and they made us feel at home. Would highly recommend this place. I assume we met the owner he was really friendly. Well done plume of feathers we will be back very soon. Lots of choice and the specials are great

Came here on a Friday evening. Had a lovely steak & ale pie. Wife had pork belly. Both big portions & quality ingredients. Both really enjoyed & would definitely come back & recommend. Very pleasant service. Big car park.

We were celebrating my brothers 60th birthday this evening Starter was of poor quality two of us had pork belly bites 3 over cooked small pieces stuffed in a tin filled with salad leafs at the bottom denote a portion !!
Waited ages for our main meal & what a disappointment was definitely not worth the wait 3 of us had the black rock with scallops & tiger prawns ie King prawns you get 3 scallops & 4 king prawns advertised on there menu as tiger prawns definitely not worth the money they are asking.
My brother ordered mash with his meal there was black bits in it also full of lumps & grey in colour!!!
Would definitely not return & would recommend if you read this review give this pub a wide birth & save your money.
Total rip off

We booked a celebratory lunch at the Plume of Feathers, for 4 on a Saturday lunchtime. We were a party of two couples, one of which are elderly. From the time we were seated to the time our food was brought to our table it must have been around an hour. The food was pleasant enough, 3 of us had scampi and double cooked chips with crushed peas and tartare, the other had bangers and mustard mash. Given the long wait that we had endured for the main course, we were uncertain as to whether to order pudding, but 2 of us took a chance, but soon regretted it. It took nearly 45 minutes to arrive in which time the elderly members of the party were getting extremely restless and anxious about the wait. We were on the verge of cancelling our pudding but received an apology by the waitress stating that there had been an oversight on the order and as a result it was then rushed through. Unfortunately my warm chocolate brownie was not worth the wait and bore little resemblance to chocolate apart from the colour. One elderly member of our party had opted for the sticky toffee pudding and custard which he seemed to enjoy.
I am uncertain as to why the service was so appalling, but the whole experience of going to the Plume of Feathers will not be repeated. . . .
