This hotel was nice, staff was lovely and very friendly, rooms were ok very hot though, my sister was sleeping in the room next door and the matteress spring had come out and scrated her leg, first night the alarms went off at 4am had to leave the rooms as assumed fire alarm, carried on for atleast half hour after asking three times for it to be turned off, upon leaving was packing our belongings and in one of the draws we had found a used condom, other than that it was a nice hotel with good food for breakfast with a variety of fruits cereals amd a cooked breakfast

Visited this hotel during a visit to Halifax, first impressions of the hotel, sedimentary a nice ambiance about the place. A 5 minute walk from the Wool Shops Shopping centre. The food was good & reasonably priced, service was excellent. I'd love to stay at this lovely hotel. Well worth a visit for meeting for drinks & food.

Well located close to main rail station, good for business or pleasure, very good value, staff are superb, rooms are well appointed and the hotel overall has a lovely quirky feeling so different to the normal chains. Breakfast is a feast and a half served with wonderful Yorkshire charm.

We found our room to be clean neat tidy and compact. Might benefit from some type of double glazing to block out the small amount of noise ( air conditioning unit?)
Ate in the restaurant for our evening meal. Starters
Spare ribs- delicious well cooked and falling off the bone prawn
Cocktail updated and served not in 70s style.
Both had Haddock and chips unfortunately there were no garden peas only mushy. Definitely home made chunky chips, majority were well cooked but a few under cooked or overdone /greasy. Rick was very helpful -top man. The Muzak playing in background delightful and very easy listening
Full English for breakfast. All fresh ingredients and very tasty.

First impressions upon arriving were really positive. The gentleman receptionist could not have been any more helpful or cheery.

The rooms themselves are rather chintzy (avocado coloured bath suite) and it feels it's age. The original features of the house have been retained but it does make it very noisy and can hear everything through the bedroom walls.

It isn't helped that nearby renovation works do start at 0700 so if you are expecting a lie in you won't get it.

Food is ok nothing to write home about.

Dear Ellwood1972,

Thank you for your feedback following your recent stay, I am sorry to learn that not all aspects of your stay met your expectations on this occasion.

The hotel is currently undergoing refurbishment to replace some of the grey bathroom suites. unfortunately on this occasion your allocation was one of our rooms yet to be completed.

In regards to the works taking place at the Piece Hall I am sorry you were disturbed, the works should not commence before 07:30 on weekdays, I will of course investigate this further with them.

Kind regards
