First of all having checked the website for parking yes the hotel has parking but apparently only for residents who are staying at the hotel.
The building is hundreds of years old but that doesn’t explain why the bar is so lacking in character and atmosphere.
The staff are punctual with service but they were hardly swamped with custom.
I drank a real ale from the bar which was perfectly acceptable.
Food service started at 6pm and we had a 2 course meal, main and dessert.
Our total bill was in excess of £70 which bearing mind the food was reasonable but didn’t set the world alight I thought was marginally expensive.
Unlikely to revisit.

A friend and I walked across from the boatyard at Penmarlem and arrived a couple of minute after 20.00 to be told that they stopped serving food at 20.00. There was no apology, offer to speak to the chef or any suggestions of an an alternative. The building is well decorated inside and out and in a wonderful location. But unless I’m mistaken the purpose of a hostelry is to provide food and drink. I shall not bother again.

We booked to eat in the bar at 7:30. Arrived on time and ordered straight away. They told us it would be a bit of a wait ............ one and a half hours later the starter appeared.
We had been travelling all day and missed lunch so to wait til 9 pm was really too bad.
When the food came it was good but I would be reluctant to return specially if you had children with you..

We stayed for one night and due to another guest staying on in the room that we were to use we were upgraded to a room with a view. And what a view! The inn is situated so that the view is down river to the sea.
Contrary to some reports the staff were brilliant and very helpful. Parking was just up the hill but no problem. The food was excellent - we had the mussels which were outstanding.
A very memorable visit.

We have used the Old Ferry Inn before when walking the Hall Walk from Polruan, but only for a beer. On this occasion we had lunch, which was excellent, just a nice omelette and a sandwich, but freshly made, tasty and nicely presented.

The beer selection and quality is also excellent, and the bar manager really friendly and helpful. Service was a tad slow, but on a par with most pubs in Cornwall.

The bar has a real character ambience, and is full of old nick knacks which festoon the walls and every nook and cranny.

The dinner menu also looked really good, and we shall be eating here again on our next visit. Happy to recommend this pub.

They do have a very small car park, not for the feint hearted, there is also a free car park by the ferry.
