Whilst travelling home after weekend break, we managed to come across this lovely place, very polite young lady behind the bar, quickly found us a table, squeezing us in before reservations, as we were after a quick meal, the carvery was amazing, the whole display of hot food was inviting, the whole pub was heaving with happy customers, we left with full bellies & very impressed

Popped in with four other people with no reservation in the middle their nine hour Sunday service and was worried for a moment whilst the assessed their bookings but so pleased that they managed to fit us in. I could see why they are so busy the carvery was spot on and priced well they only way it could of been better is if it were cooked to order and brought over spuds and parsnips weren't as good as the ones I make but they never are.

Excellent carvery, choice of three meats with all the trimmings and some of the best puddings I’ve had in a pub. We will certainly come back when we’re back down to Devon.

Yet again a great meal, great Carvey all hot and fresh. Keep up the good work, always a good choice of vegetables and well cooked.

Always happy as they let us have an extra jug of gravy

Having recently read about a restaurant in the UK that was heavily fined for serving food on wooden boards, we were completely surprised when we visited and our burger orders were served on these kind of boards. Wooden boards should not be dishwashed for many reasons. Mine had such enormous splits in that my knife could be stood in it upright. Bad move as when I pulled it out a load of black rot was attached which made me feel sick. The guy running the show didn't even comment and we did not pay for this meal. I hope by now these boards have been replaced with something hygienic, so that you as a business can spend more time dealing with your elderly fanbase instead of displaying your irritability at having to speak to the likes of us with genuine issues. Oh and for the record, that burger was frozen, no question. Not freshly made on the premises as advertised.
