“Excellent value for money”
Reviewed 30 March 2016 for a stay in March 2016

Wonderful property, better location than we could have hoped for. Clean comfortable and contrary to some other review, very warm !!!!. Loads of golf courses in the area, good base for mountain walks, leisure drives, shopping in the likes of Stirling or Glasgow, We all are thoroughly enjoying it.

Management Response
23 Feb 2016
Teresa, thank you for taking time to review the cottage, we are sorry that you found the cottage lacking in a few areas. I will now respond to your comments as follows:
1. The cottage is advertised as being in the main street and as such is on the busiest road in Callander, this does make it handy for all the local shops, restaurants etc. but will be noisier than a countryside cottage. We are currently looking at getting the windows seen to but the property is in a conservation area and as such we are not allowed to replace the existing windows or to put double glazed units in. The downstairs rooms already have secondary double glazing and we are considering getting this fitted to the upstairs rooms. With respect to the heating we have not had any other complaints about being cold, I did notice when I went in to change over the cottage that the bedroom radiators were turned down to 2 so maybe that was the reason. It was also bitterly cold (-7 on the Sunday morning) during your visit.
With respect to your other comments, tea towels are in the bottom drawer in the kitchen (there are usually 2 spare ones provided), the bin liners are in the cupboard under the sink as is the dustpan and brush. Salt, pepper and cooking oil are in the cupboard above the cooker.
We always appreciate constructive comments and will consider getting lined curtains or blackout blinds in the bedrooms and will check that the radiators are working correctly in the other rooms.

“Week stay”
Reviewed 28 November 2015 for a stay in November 2015

Stayed here few years ago for a week with my wife and few friends. Great wee house. Plenty of DVDs and things to do. Kitchen was well stocked with all the stuff to make meals. Plenty to do round about. Good hill walking just a short drive away

“Well placed cottage for the Trossachs”
Reviewed 25 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

The location is great, close to shops restaurants and pubs. The accommodation is clean and very well equipped with practical wooden floors. The bonus here is that you are allowed more than one non-shedding dog, a must for us. This was close to an 'excellent' score and that could have been achieved if:-
* the radiator was bigger in the dining room - the room was quite cool
* there was some heating in the bathroom
* there was a lock on the bathroom door and other doors shut properly
* the décor was more homely
* it had an allocated parking place
Overall this was a good property and was good value for money.

“Good central location in the heart of the Trossachs”
Reviewed 18 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Nice cottage with everything that you would want for a weeks stay. This is in the heart of Callander, on the main street, so very easy to eat out in the evening and pop to the local shops if you are eating in. There are lots of lovely walks on your doorstep and there are great places to visit close by, Doune Castle, the Red Kite observation hide, Inchmahome Priory in the middle of Lake Monteith (the only lake in Scotland) and lots of beautiful Lochs, waterfalls and Bens to see.

Mhor Bakery in town sells wonderful bread and cakes and their restaurant, Mhor 84, up the road in Kingshouse is a really lovely place to go for dinner.
