We travelled to Douneside House for a small family wedding, and it proved to be a fantastic venue. The staff were attentive and efficient (particular Gordon who looked after our party for at least two days). The food was excellent. The views and walks around the garden were calming and picturesque.

My husband and I visited Douneside House for the second time for my birthday yesterday and we were not disappointed. Both of our visits have been excellent and current restrictions haven't hindered the attentiveness of the staff; front of house and waiting staff are great. Rooms and the hotel are lovely and the grounds are beautiful! We've had flavoursome meals and on this occasion they catered to our vegan (and previously, vegetarian) dietary requirements without leaving us feeling left out (I've included a photo of our vegan coconut panacotta and passionfruit sorbet). Would recommend to anyone. Thanks for a lovely evening break!

Well run and most comfortable with great food and ambience. It is akin to staying in Victorian country house with full service. If you like tradition, this is a great choice. The views from the front of the hotel are quite beautiful and the gardens surrounding the house are simply wonderful. An ideal base for those interested in fishing the Dee or the Don, playing golf, walking, visiting the local castles like Crathes and much more. Or simply chill out and then mellow up with a dram or two followed by a delicous dinner with many local ingredients plus a few glasses of vino! .

Visited this weekend for an amazing afternoon tea. The whole experience was lovely. From the minute we arrived the staff were polite, attentive, a staff that any establishment would be lucky to have as employees. The food was fantastic the savouries were so tasty and left us wanting more with the game pie standing out with us all as the star of what was an amazing plate. The sweets were also out of this world being just the right size and sweetness. Can’t wait to come back again.

Notwithstanding COVID restrictions the staff did a fantastic job to create a relaxing and wonderful stay. Great facilities, magnificent building, exemplary food would absolutely come here again. Unexpected bonus was the specimen gardens you can walk around.
