Description: The Village Inn is one of Bowness-on-Windermere's most popular bars, situated just seconds from the shores of Lake Windermere and is open daily from 10am until late, serving fresh, locally sourced produce, with homemade pasta dishes and creations from the grill, a speciality. The bar offers a wide range of real ales and an excellent selection of vodkas, beers, brandies, and an extensive wine list with 50 wines from around the globe. In the summer, the Village Inn also launched a new range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails, which have proved especially popular, in addition to new outside furniture and heaters. The Village Inn Bar and Grill is in the heart of Bowness-on-Windermere, its busy restaurant and bar make it a great place for locals and tourists a like. Come and see for yourself!

We popped in after and early lunch at Hyltons and sat at the bar for a wee drink. Many many cocktails later we left with a spring in our step. We were served by Alan who is a magician at concocting cocktails. He was a delight to watch, so much energy and nothing escapes him with his attentiveness to customers arriving and leaving. Friendly hello and goodbye each time. After one cocktail we had to try another and then another... pity we’d eaten before discovering the Village Inn as the meals being served looked amazing. We’ll definitely return for meals when back in Bowness. And cocktails too of course.

Very busy restaurant situated in a popular area visited buy locals and tourists. Advisable to book a table as it was really busy when we arrived. Good service by attentive staff had our orders through in very little time, though watching one of the team running between tables was very amusing. We all enjoyed our meals and would definitely revisit next time we are in town.

Visited the Village Inn at 4.15pm without booking a table but there was no problem being seated. The service was very efficient and the staff were very helpful. The food was delicious (as it has always been), the atmosphere was good but perhaps the piped music was a little loud for diners. A small error on the bill was quickly rectified by apologetic staff. These things happen. We will not hesitate to visit again as there are quite a few dishes I have yet to sample. Thank you.
