Stayed here whilst in Durham attending an event at the Gala Theatre, which is virtually next door. Bars, restaurants and shopping also very close by. Rang in advance to request a quiet room, given that it was a Saturday night, and the hotel is a very short walk away from the city centre. Arrived early, but the delightful lady on reception was able to check us in immediately. The room was excellent, quiet, clean, of a good size, well decorated & equipped, with a large screen TV. Very friendly and helpful staff throughout. Discounted car parking in the Walkergate multi-storey next door, £7.70 for an overnight stay.

Good quality Premier Inn very close to the city. Good location for parents visiting students as the Uni is in easy walking distance as are the centre of Durhams shops and restaurants. Parking is in the adjacent car park which is safe and secure and not too expensive with the Premier Inn discount.

This place is ideal if you want a central location for the city. A few minutes walk from the city centre and the Gala Theatre. Parking is in the multi-storey next door with a 15% discount by getting your ticket stamped at Reception. The rooms are what you’d expect with a Premier Inn and generally well soundproofed although the refrigerated lorry at 9am the next morning for half an hour was a bit loud. Would recommend and would stay again.

Taking a couple of days to visit Durham during the Easter Hols, the hotel was well located (after finding the right turning for walkergate) and within easy walking distance to all the shops and sights of Durham. Our family room (403) was large an up high away from most of the noise, and far enough away from the lift not for that to be a nuisance. The room was clean and in good condition, but the bed was a little soft for my liking and usual expectations from Premier Inn. The Breakfast was o.k. and the staff were very welcoming, prompt and efficient. The parking (used the Walkergate Multistory) was o.k. with a discounted price from the Premier Inn Check out desk. Great wins in Durham was contacting the Blue Badge guide and having a personal tour of the city for a very reasonable price, and also a good tour around the Cathedral. Overall a top place to visit for a couple of days..
