Description: Passion. It is quite often impossible to summarise the experience created within a restaurant with just one word. Passion. Passion to produce the best food possible with the freshest and finest ingredients we can scour the world to find. Passion to strive to be the best. Passion to ensure that our customers remember. Passion to cater for people from all walks of life and give them a lasting memory of our restaurant. We're not going to tell you about how we have stunning river views with outdoor dining set in a 13th Century cellar conversion. We're not going to bore you with how difficult we are to find. We want you to come here, seek us out, walk down those narrow steps, be surprised by what lies beneath and leave wishing you had found us sooner. We're not perfect, we're not the best in the world, but we strive to be the best we can and evolve every day, so come join us on our journey.

The ambience in this restaurant is very inviting with a lovely view of the river and well spaced tables. The staff were frindly but service was very slow. Starters were very small - more like a tasting menu with a tiny amount sat on a very large plate. The wIter wore gloves to deliver our main courses, although the plates were far from hot. My Duck Breast was tasty enough but overcooked really and the accompaniments were not generous. I don't mind small meals but in the end I found the restaurant to be rather pretentious.

It's easy to walk past the entrance to the restaurant but walking down the stairs and sitting at the window with the river view it so worth it. The food is delicious for both lunch and dinner. It's not over priced either.

Will defiantly be returning.

We had a large party here, the food was uniformly excellent and the staff were friendly and pleasant. The price compared to the quality of food was brilliant. Good for couples or a group meal.

Revisited The Cellar Door for dinner after a year and found it as good as I remembered it. Choosing from the menu was difficult because so many of the dishes were attractive.

The food was beautifully cooked and presented and featured unusual combinations of tastes and textures.

Two small hitches during the meal were quickly and efficiently dealt with by waiting staff. Questions about the food in the dishes were answered with knowledge and with enthusiasm about the sources.

Well priced too - My fiancée and I had three courses each and shared a bottle of wine for £75.
Will definitely be returning.
