My partner and I visited the court inn for a meal as it had been recommended to us , the staff were very friendly and welcoming and our food was served quickly.my partner said it was the best barbecue sauce he’d tasted ,he had the hunters chicken,I ordered the crispy duck which came with an amazing sauce veg and chips.Unfortunately there was a few pumps off so we couldn’t have the cider we wanted but we tried the cloudy cider which was very nice . I would recommend this place and if you’re feeling adventurous they serve snails, kangaroo and ostrich.

Lovely little pub in Durham, really nicely laid out with a certain character about it.
Good choice of food at a range of prices.
They also have a wide range of drinks.
I had lasagne with chips and salad, really filling

The beers a bit to Heineken for my liking and the place is looking a bit worn around the edges, but and it’s a big but that totally redeems itself ........ it’s got a fantastic selection of gins and by far the friendliest service we had in Durham.

Give it a go and enjoy a gin.

Great pub with a dining room. The menu includes all the pub classics but also some more unusual offerings such as ostrich loin and cracked crab. The steak and ale pie was excellent, gammon steak delicious and very large, the cracked crab fresh and tasty and the monkfish wrapped in bacon superb. We ate here twice and the service was good on both occasions. Excellent real ales and a good wine list

We were meeting here for a few drinks for a friends retirement, being a Saturday afternoon it was quite busy, we congregated out the back opposite Zen, didn’t know this seating area was even here, service was good, drinks reasonably priced & a good atmosphere, food being served to some of our group looked very appetising, overall a lovely visit!
