From the minute I booked this with Ang till the moment she met us at the cottage with the keys, nothing was to much trouble.

The pictures do not do this delightful cottage justice, we have been renting cottages, apartments since 1988 and this is by far the best one so far.

Ang has thought of everything you could need in a holiday home from home, all the appliances are of good quality as are the settees and the most comfortable beds ever, had great nights sleep on them. The two bathrooms are fab the en suite with a wonderful walk in shower more like a wet room which as great for me as I am disabled, and the family bathroom with its mood lighting.

The lounge had a nice size TV with Sky and a DVD player. There is WiFi so you can Skype your family and friends.

The location is great 35 minutes to Beamish, park and ride to Durham 15 minutes away Darlington 30 minutes drive. Lots of very good reasonable pubs near by, the Joiners Arms went to on Wednesday for steak night and Friday for fish night , the Duke of York was also very good.

All in all a great little cottage in very pretty surroundings, very quite will defiantly return in the near future thank you very much Ang.

“A delightful, dog-friendly cottage”

This newly converted luxury cottage is an absolute delight. We were warmly greeted by Angie on arrival and she also kindly came to bid us farewell on departure. The cottage is situated in its own grounds with a spacious, secure south-facing garden and a separate enclosed parking area which can accommodate several cars. It is completely private with only the rabbits to spy on you! Angie has ensured that everything in the cottage is of the very highest standard and it is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need, and more. We both slept soundly in the large, comfortable bed, and the main bedroom has a wonderful, walk-in shower. Even our dog was made to feel very welcome, with her own welcome pack and bucket of goodies to see her through her holiday. The doggie shower outside is a real bonus for muddy paws! This is real walking country and Teesdale and Weardale are truly beautiful. The railway walk close to Hunwick village is also not to be missed.

“An excellent cottage for a relaxing break”

The cottage is of a very high standard, nothing could be faulted from cleanliness to equipment.
We found the owner Ang very helpful & friendly and the welcome pack was most appreciated.
The area is very peaceful but quite close to Durham city and many places of interest are easily reached from the cottage.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to pay a return visit to Bracken Farm Cottage at a future date.

“Wonderful place to relax.”

It's so difficult to describe such a wonderful place. The accommodation, the facilities, (everything you needed was there, forgotten anything Ang is your answer), the scenery(well Geoff and Ang did landscape the gardens). And the hospitality was wonderful.

Sil and Ernest (mum and dad in their 80's) came for a break, and all they did was gush, how fantastic everything was; "the beds are so comfortable", "the décor", "the fabulous tv", obviously that's Ernest comment. Because they both sang your praises so much, when we came to collect them, we took the opportunity to stay a night. It was all and more than they'd described.

Thanks isn't enough to you both, Geoff and Ang, You went the extra mile to make everything so special.

“Beautiful cottage”

The cottage is equipped with everything you need, is very clean and beautifully renovated. The garden is private, not overlooked and a real sun trap and again has everything provided, garden furniture, barbecue and umbrella. This is a lovely place to relax and unwind. The nearest pub to the cottage is the Quarry Burn, about a 10 min walk and the food is very good.
