We had been touring on a very hot day in my open MX5. Walking down the Midhurst main street my wife said she would like a coffee and we went into the Olive and Vine.

The greeting was very friendly and we went straight through the restaurant to the garden area outside. It was really relaxing there, with no traffic noise. A number of people seemed to be having a late breakfast.

It was a while before our order was taken by the very pleasant young man who seemed to be running everything. Our cappuccini (or cappuccinos if you want to Anglicise it) arrived in two giant cups in a short while and were excellent. We made a mental note to come back for a full meal some time.

The cost? - a mere £3 for the two of us. I've had a third of the quantity for double the price elsewhere so that was real value.

Recommended.

My mother and I visited The Olive & Vine after purchasing a voucher from Dealmonster. Do not be fooled by the exterior of the building which you could easily dismiss- inside is a beautiful, quaint, cosy restaurant and outdoor eating area.

Our voucher was for the set lunch menu and a drink, which I have to say was fabulous. We both had the roasted red pepper soup and bread to start which was absolutely delicious: the soup was thick and creamy and the bread was chunky and rustic, served with an ample pot of butter.

For the main course, my mother chose the pan fried cod with pea and herb risotto which she said was amazing, and I had the olive, cheese and tomato tart with new potatoes and salad which was just as tasty. Although the portions weren't huge they were perfect for a three course lunch.

My mother was pretty full after her previous two courses so opted for the strawberries with double cream. I chose the lemon mousse with home made cardamom shortbread which was, quite honestly, the best mousse I have had in my life- it was gorgeous, lovely and thick and creamy!

The waitress that served us was both attentive, yet not too much which is often hard to find in restaurants these days, so she is certainly a credit to them.

Overall both of us would highly recommend this restaurant and will be sure to return if ever in the area again.

We dropped into the Olive & Vine for coffee this morning and after soaking in the wonderful atmosphere decided to book for a later lunch after a walk around Midhurst.
We chose the set lunch and were very pleasantly surprised - the food was beautifully presented and very flavoursome - the portions were on the small side but for the price, this was to be expected - I felt it was more of a taster menu - we will certainly be back to sample the a la carte menu! The service was first class and there were some nice extra touches e.g. homemade shortbread served with very good coffee and a chocolate with the bill. The restaurant is housed in a very old building but has a good fusion of old and modern - you can choose to eat in the cool bar area or in the restaurant which is quite warm on a hot day. There is also a pleasant garden. This is definitely one to return to.

Located on the south side of North street this small restaurant does a great fixed price lunch with wine - the website has the details. You can either sit outside in their patio garden or inside in the conservatory.

The food was well cooked and well presented - portion sizes were not large but this wasn't an issue for us.

We will certainly return again soon

Dropped in for breakfast after a weekend away, there was no one at the bar area and we had to wait a minute or two before being welcomed.
Had two breakfasts, plenty of tea, lovely bread and ample portions of food, nice and relaxed with plenty of Sunday Papers to read through . Great food and well worth the £7.50

Bar area felt a little dirty , sticky bar , stains on the wall , wouldn't want this great place to slip .
