Very pretty and well maintained park, surprisingly in the centre of Pontypridd. A lovely walk all the way round, with plenty of benches to sit on and enjoy the river flowing by or to admire the colourful flower beds. A large play area for children of all ages with plenty of facilities, a reasonably priced cafe and an outdoor lido, though this has to be prebooked.

A large park with football golf, a large play area and a fantastic Lido [booking needed for this] with a warm water pool. a great place for a day out, and a very short walk over the bridge puts you into the centre of Pontypridd town centre

I attended Ponty Lido yesterday with my daughter and two grandkids. Unfortunately the weather was not kind and it was raining but we had pre booked and pre paid so went anyway. The Lido is just lovely. Several pools catering for all ages, including an inflatable fun pool which can be used by paying a small extra charge. Sunbeds for mums overlooking the toddlers splash pool with fountain int he middle. The entrance cost to the main Lido is a very reasonable £2.50 for a session lasting 1.5 hours and can be pre booked online up to one week in advance. The staff were very friendly and one of them came out and explained the process and handed out wristbands to those who had paid for the extras whilst we were in the queue, which cut down entrance time. The changing rooms were spotless and had some unisex family cubicles which were very helpful with a couple of kids. The shower afterwards was lovely and hot although there could have been more - we were lucky because we left a little before the end but there could be a queue at busy times as we only found one. More hooks in the cubicles would also been helpful so avoid dry clothes getting wet. Before going in to the pool we took the kids to the park which is excellent. Lots of daring equipment though so need close supervision. All in all though a lovely day out, which would have been fabulous on a hot day. We did hear the attendant say that they usually have plenty of walk in slots available unless it's very hot or a Bank holiday, so it might be better to wait for good weather next time and decide on the day.

The only downside was the café in the park. It was busy but totally disorganised. Seven or eight staff behind the counter seemed to be dithering about leaving one young man with two speeds - slow and stop - to serve at the counter. The meal of the day was billed as 'Fish Finger Sandwich and Chips' which I thought was very expensive at £6.95p especially as it was served on a tiny plate and looked pretty uninspiring and skimpy as it went past. This would have been very expensive for a family. Plastic cutlery, no condiments on the table and long queues did not help. Two milk drinks and two very ordinary Americano coffees cost £6.40 which again was expensive for what it was. All in all pretty useless and I would give it a miss.

The Park is greatly underused but has plenty of amenities both sporting and general leisure, from the regenerated Lido swimming pool to pitch and put golf. Nearby parking in Pontypridd allows easy and not too far a walk to get there and public transport likewise. The whole park is well maintained and covers large area alongside the river.

Beautiful gardens, plenty of dog waste bins throughout the park. Plenty of benches to sit and rest and areas to have a picnic. There is a cafe there sit in or outside. The park is well kept and my daughter enjoys playing there, enough to keep all ages entertained. Also has a lido but haven’t visited that yet.
