Absolutely tremendous venue for a stress free and relaxing stay. The cottages are high quality and extremely peaceful and very safe and secure if you want to take your dogs. The walks through the woods are ideal also if you want to tire them out. A perfect place to stay in Gods Country. Will definitely book again

We booked a Woodland Lodge for 3 nights for our family of two adults and two children (7 and 5).
We had a brilliant time and we wouldn’t change a thing.
Access to High Oaks Grange and your booked property is straightforward with your own chosen PIN code.
The grounds themselves are really well maintained.
The property was clean, well equipped and the beds were really comfortable (so much so I had a look to see who made the mattresses!)
I’ve always avoided hot tubs in properties as I’ve been worried about cleanliness but here they are immaculate and are emptied and cleaned between guests. Not only that, they are checked daily.
The location is fantastic. We had a quiet weekend and stayed local, walking to Pickering and Thornton le Dale through the fields, but there are lots of things to do nearby.
The local farm shop just outside the grounds is brilliant and the cafe attached serves up some lovely food.
The children’s playground on site is a great addition and the kids loved it.
Try and remember to take the essentials like oil, salt and pepper (we forgot!) but if you do forget then there are plenty of places to pick some up.
All in all we had a fantastic weekend and look forward to returning in the near future.
S Waldron

Thank you so much for such a great review. We are delighted that you had such a wonderful family weekend in one of our Woodland Lodges. We are very happy to note that everything was to your satisfaction (including the hot tub) and that you had a good night's sleep too. We hope that you will stay with us again soon.

Just spent 3 nights in one of the woodland Lodges and thoroughly enjoyed it, great location to use as a base when touring the East Coast and only a mile from Flamingo land. The accommodation was spotlessly clean with everything you could possibly need. Dog friendly and has an enclosed field where you can exercise your pet. Close to the villages of Pickering and Thornton le Dale where we had lovely pub meals in the Black Swan and the New Inn who are also dog friendly. Will definitely be returning soon.

3rd time to high oaks and the 2nd time to the pods. Beautiful location and the pods are ideal for a short break. Can’t wait to be back in October in one of the new lodges. 10/10 Highly recommended and lots to do in the surrounding area

Wonderful lodges in picturesque grounds perfectly placed between Pickering and Thornton le Dale makes High Oaks Grange a fabulous base to visit North Yorkshire. Whitby, Scarborough and Dalby Forest are close by, plus stately homes, museums, theme parks and so much more. CedarBarn Farm next door is worth a mention - cafe with delicious food, farm shop with deli and butcher, plus dog walking field, kids play area and a mini train ride.

We thoroughly enjoyed our first stay in a Woodland Lodge and will certainly visit again. All the staff were friendly and they all do a brilliant job, the site is a credit to the whole team. We had only booked Monday to Friday but we were enjoying our stay that much we enquired if we could stay longer, so many thanks to Anna for arranging at short notice.

From the moment you enter the impressive entrance gate and proceed up the drive, you feel it’s a special place with wagtails, blackbirds, rabbits and squirrels to name a few
Set amongst mature oak trees you are well away from the road so very peaceful, the lodges are cosy, clean and comfortable. They are well presented with everything you need, the attention to detail is impressive, very much a home from home.
Outside, each lodge there is a patio area with plenty of comfortable furniture and a BBQ. The hot tub has a canopy overhead meaning it can be used in all weather to relax whilst still enabling a great view.
