We were on our way to Scotland from South Wales, to visit our son and grandchildren, but had a terrible journey up. We avoid motorways if possible due to on-going roadworks (6years I guess). However it seems all the roads through and around Hereford are in the process of being re-surfaced, and this added about 2hrs to our journey. We therefore decided to stop somewhere for the night, and luckily chose Morecambe.
We saw a pretty little hotel on the seafront ( the Auckland ), and ventured in.The welcome was very warm and genuine, and we were shown to a very comfortable en suite room (116) with a sea view.
Although the hotel was busy, we had quiet night and slept well. Next morning an excellent breakfast was served by very sociable staff. We have no reservations about recommending this hotel and would certainly stay there againMore
