Me and my wife visited the palatine on a spur of the moment Saturday night. After being shown to the restaurant upstairs overlooking morecambe bay I decided upon having the steak and ale pie and my wife had a cabin chicken hanging kebab.
They were both absoloutly sublime! I have not tasted a pie like that since my grandmothers 20+ years ago and on the opposite end of the scale my wife said her kebab was so moist and tasty and we were both pleasantly surprised at the portion size. There arnt many places you can get a main course for less than £10.. let alone walk away feeling like you're about to pop. The experience was a delight from beginning to end with the friendly waitresses not being able to do enough for you, the food tasting so good and the lovely cask ale. We loved it that much in fact we have booked to visit again next weekend and are also holding the Christmas party here for our staff. Could not recommend enough.
Well done guys!

My friend and I called in to this pub in the hope of having some tea. When someone eventually acknowledged us we were asked had we booked which we hadn't and then told because we hadn't booked there was a wait until 8:45 and they stopped serving at 9:00. Totally pointless and this was at 6:30. The pub was quite clearly not brim full so with this attitude we won't be back. Not sure why it gets good reviews with an attitude like that

Hello,

I'm the owner of the Palatine

I'd like to get to the bottom of what happened so it doesn't happen again

Can I please ask what date you came in and if you remember the person you talked to.

Many thanks
