Bring the kids here to feed the geese. They are quite used to it and eat out of your hand. Playground for the children and habitats for exotic birds too.

Ward Park is only a few minutes walk from Bangor Town Centre. There is a play park for young children, aviaries full of birds, wild birds e.g. Geese and Ducks and Guinea Fowl roaming free. There is a big cannon/ gun which has been used for photo shoots for generations.

This has always been a favourite place of mine since I was younger myself meandering through it as a shortcut from and to The Tech (Technical College) as it was called then. A memory of playing tennis on the courts at the upper end of the park, still there today. Now I take my grandson to the little Play Park there and walk around the lake to see the wildfowl and peacocks and sometimes lucky enough if there are bowls to watch. A picnic to enjoy, a little history with the cannon gun to explain to him was from war days though he, like every other little boy just wants to climb it. A lovely well kept Park and all on the way to the library still remains a great day for me.

Thank cyn d
