“Love La Calera, Love Teba and the People”

I have visited and stayed at La Calera on a number of occaisions and just ove everything about the place! if you are wanting the "kiss me quick" of coastal Spain then this is not the place for you! This is real Spain where you will get the chance to practice your command of the Spanish language for sure! I have stayed in all of the appartments at La calera over the course of the past 4 years and I cannot fault any of them. The views from appartments 1,2 and 3 are as good as it gets and imagine being able to read a book just moonlight as I did! Mark and Lindsay who own La Calera will go out of their way to make your stay so enjoyable and dont be surprised if you get an invite one night to join them for a meal and several bottles of the local vino! Although I am not a motorcyclist, I chatted to many of the other tourists staying at La Calera and listened to their motorcycling stories using an impressive array of BMW motorcycles also available from La Calera. All in all I believe there is something for everyone at La Calera and I for one cant wait to visit again!

“A little gem of a place in Andalucia”

We had a fantastic week riding round Andalucia from our base at La calera. Mark & Lyndsay, our hosts provided a great place to stay for our motorbiking holiday in Spain.
Our self catering studio flat gave us the flexibilty we needed to come and go. This together with the relaxed and user friendly facilities of honesty bar, bookable meals and snacks, pool and terraces with superb views
We also hired motorbikes from them rather than face the long ride down using our own. These were handsome and agile BMW bikes and Mark's advice on where best to ride them was excellent. So many great roads and places to visit and not enough time!
The icing on the cake for us was being there when the Teba festival in hounour of the Scottish Knight James Douglas was being held. We had fun meeting the team from "Strathleven Artizans" who were over to take part in the festival.
Give La Calera and this part of Spain a try rather than the usual Costas!

“A little Gem”

What can we say about La Calera? Absolutely stunning! Apartment very comfortable and clean. Made to feel really welcome Mark and Lindsayare a very laid back couple and so helpful and friendly. We were very fortunate to come across this little gem. Town very unspoilt but locals very friendly. Went to pubs that you recommended and got a 'taste of the real Spain'. We thought it was a very quiet little town initially but found that after 9 pm it comes to life and it has so many interesting shops. We travelled around and visited the Lakes at Ardales and went for a meal at 'El Mirador' - quaint, rustic, good food - beautiful view over lake. Following day went to 'El kiosko' restaurant further along road, beautiful views again. Visit to El Chorro a must - stunning scenery and windy roads. This has been an idyllic chill out holiday. We would definately recommend your beautiful finca to all my friends and hopefully we will be back one day. Thank you very much. Perfect ending to our holiday - we saw lunar eclipse on Weds 15th June 2011 Fraser and Joyce Alexandria (Loch Lomond) June '11
