Another lockdown Saturday..
What to do for a treat...answer takeaway from Morans. Simple to order, simple to collect. The food was beyond delicious, lots of it and piping hot. Can't recommend it highly enough.

We booked a 6pm table which we then had to cancel because our youngest is 12 and this goes against Moran's age policy. We ordered a takeaway instead and all the dishes were excellent and arrived hot. On the upside, the cost was significantly less but it is a little strange that a restaurant is turning away business on a Monday...in December...during a pandemic! I completely understand that Moran's wants to have more of a grown up feel at the weekends or even later in the evenings but I think they might want to rethink for early evening or weekday bookings.

A reduced menu for lunchtime dining but choice and standard of food served still the same high standard. The chilli and basil king prawns dish is superb. The staff are very friendly and the setting of the restaurant is great. We are very lucky to have such a restaurant so local to us in this part of Devon.

I wasn't going to write a review this visit but after reading a ludicrous one-star review on here felt I had to write something . We make a point of always eating at Morans whenever we are in Westward Ho ( we try and get there twice a year) and have yet to be disappointed. Things were obviously a bit different this time... Covid precautions (they had that nailed) and a much slimmed down menu but no problems, we got the usual warm and friendly welcome and the food was as wonderful as ever. We've only every had smiles and courtesy from the hard working staff - from the tone of the 1-star review its clear why he maybe did not get the same treatment. For ourselves, we were glad to be back, we had (another) wonderful evening and we're already looking forward to returning to Morans next Spring .
