“lovely, cosy, dog friendly cottage, with helpful friendly owners”
Reviewed 7 March 2015 for a stay in February 2015

My partner and I stayed at East View with our 2 dogs and had a lovely stay. The cottage is very cosy, so a perfect place to come back to after our long walksin the snow. The cottage is very dog friendly. Jo the owner couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. We bought some amazing lamb and a pheasant from her (and she even provided a recipe). Lovely walks right from the doorstep.

“A wonderful half term break”
Reviewed 18 February 2015 for a stay in February 2015

The village is picturesiqe and set in the hills of ths peak district. The cottage itself is quaint yet has every mod con-dishwasher, smart tv, range cooker etc. Cosy inside with two open fires and window seats in every room. You wont be disapointed. We arrived to a loaf of homemade bread and farm fresh eggs. Plenty to do in the area. Worth downloading the Eyam treasure hunt taking you round the village with the end at the Minors Arms lovely roast on a sunday. Bakewell, Buxton, Mansfield, chesterfeild and Matlock Baths all worth a day out too.

Stayed for a last minute mid week break with no prior knowledge of cottage or village. What a find! Perfect cottage and excellent host in a wonderful village.
We will be back.

“Perfect Cottage for a rural break”
Reviewed 26 January 2015 for a stay in January 2015

Me and my boyfriend stayed here 22nd-25th January and had a great time! The cottage was clean, warm and had everything you would need for your stay (big kitchen which was a novelty for us!). Jo the owner lives in the farmhouse just up the track so she popped round to ensure we had everything we needed.

Fresh bread and eggs were in the kitchen upon arrival and both the fires made up ready to go. We were provided with 2 OS maps of the area as well as a detailed guide showing local restaurants/ amenities and recommended pubs to visit etc,

We visited Bakewell town/village (highly recommended) and walked around Chatsworth Manor park one afternoon (1000 acress of parkland with lots of deer). We also did a 4 hour walk starting from Hope Valley (small village nearby) via Castleton and along Mam Tor which had great scenery.

We loved the Packhorse Inn pub (about a 10min drive away) - great beer, food and welcoming staff. We went back 2/3 nights as it was so good! They have a Buffalo burger which was a bit different and tasty!

All in all we had a great time and we would definitely recommend this cottage for anyone looking for a quiet break in the Peak District.

Anna

“Beautiful, well equipment cottage”
Reviewed 9 January 2015 for a stay in December 2014

A beautiful cottage with a gorgeous kitchen kitted out with everything you would hope to find in a kitchen with a massive open fire. Jo the owner had thought of everything. There was even a spare dog bed available. Stayed between Xmas & the New Year so the cottage was tastefully decorated with a beautiful tree, lights and festive decs. We arrived late afternoon with ice & snow on the roads so was very happy to see both fires had been made up and milk, tea & coffee left for us along with chocolates and cake for the kids. The cottage was very clean and tastefully decorated with every room having a window seat which was very quant. Beds were very comfortable. Very spacious bathroom. A few toys and lots of books for the kids. TV with Love films available for those lazy evenings. Eyam is a lovely friendly place, lots of history, a couple of shops, pubs and a tea shop. Lots of great walks as you would expect in the Peaks. Great location close to Bakewell which has lots of shops, restaurants and pubs. Jo the owner was very lovely and extremely helpful. Will definitely be back.
