Where can I start.... I don't even know. Everything is amazing. The villa is lovely and always clean. The garden is beautiful and full of Palm trees and the beach at the end of the garden is the cherry on top. The staff are amazing... Pushpa is such a friendly woman and THE BEST cook. Her and my 5 year old son have exchanged details to keep in touch :) Susantha is very helpful with guiding you around and is happy to do shop runs for you, he has even got me some saffron and curry leaves to bring home. Suranga has the most gorgeous smile and is so attentive. Whatever you need he is there! He caught gigantic spider for us (my hero haha). Me and my partner walked to the local shop and to find ourselves paying at the till when a torrential thunderstorm started, we turned round to find suranga had walked up to the shop with umbrellas for us and carried our shopping home. Thank you just doesn't seem cover that sort of kindness.
The staff even got my step dad a birthday cake with breakfast the morning of his birthday which he was very grateful for.
All in all, I just can't say enough to make you realise how amazing this place is, just go, you will not be disappointed.....
Missing villa golden and staff already after only one day back :(

Stayed here for 2 weeks. A great base to explore from. Property on the beach and very quiet. Staff very good ,Night guard very helpful and helped us fend off Turtle egg poachers. Privileged to see 2 Turtles come ashore to lay eggs and then return to the sea. Pushpa our Cook made some great meals with lovely flavours and very cheap too. Susantha our manager catered for everything and was always there if we needed something, but always at a discreet distance so as not to impose. Great pool and great out door seating for late night drinks. Would thoroughly recommend.

Where to start!...we have had a wonderful time in this magical place. It's our first visit to Sri Lanka and we have loved every minute.
The staff here are absolutely wonderful. Extremely attentive, nothing is too much trouble and always smiling. I'm not sure how they manage to be so discreet!..Pushpha's cooking is not to be missed, Susantha's is extremely knowledgeable and a brilliant Tuk Tuk driver and Suranga is a diligent and hardworking young man. All absolute treasures.
The location is perfect. The beach is empty just a few local fishermen, the garden is lovely and leads straight onto the beach. The pool is clean. There are clean towels everyday and very comfy beds.
It takes about 10 mins in the Tuk Tuk into Galle
There are some lovely places to eat in Galle Old Town but Pushpha's cooking is wonderful. Just ask her to cook for you in the morning, pay for the ingredients and enjoy!....The breakfast is fresh fruit, yoghurt and eggs....must try the hoppers!...my favourite!...There is nothing not to like.
The Villa is rustic in style with an excellent outdoor seating area. The air-conditioning is good and there are numerous ceiling fans.
There is a busy road outside but you don't notice it. The villa has a high wall which helps. The sound of the waves hitting the shore reminds you that nature is not to be messed with.
The Ocean has a strong current and powerful waves...excellent surfing but take care when swimming. The pool is often the best place to take a dip.
We asked Bart to organise our transfers and a helpful driver was waiting for us. It takes about 2 hrs from Colombo and costs about £50.
When booking Bart has always been quick to respond to emails and answering questions.
We have had a great time here and loved the people and the location
The Villa Golden far exceeded our expectations. We stayed for a week, but could happily have stayed for much longer. The location was perfect, right on the beach which gave us a chance to experience the life of the local fisherman. Most afternoons we would head to our chairs on the beach (drinks in hand!) and help the fisherman launch their boats for the night. Then we would sit back and watch the sunset, chatting to a few locals who live nearby.
There are not really any shops or restaurants in close proximity (save for a couple on the beach) but we loved that as it meant we could walk out the front door, hail a tuk tuk and explore. And the we had the serenity of the Villa Golden to come home to. It was so relaxing to walk through the front doors, escape the hustle and bustle and the heat, and dive into our own private and secluded pool. Bliss.
I can not rate the staff highly enough. Always smiling, always helpful but never intrusive. Pushpa would cook if we needed her to, and she made us a couple of delicious lunches and a dinner, traditional and flavoursome Sri Lankan food, The other times we mainly ate in Galle and Unawatuna. We also ate at one of the restaurants a short stroll up the beach, the one owned by Oshan (not sure of spelling) and enjoyed it very much.
All in all a most memorable holiday, that left us feeling more relaxed than we have done in a long time.

The reason we chose Villa Golden was primarily for the wedding planning services they offered, beside their yet appealing housing and travel accommodation. We did not want to be too specific in our request, but prefered to give them the absolute freedom to surprise us.
As soon as we arrived at the villa, we were instantly mesmerised by the beauty of the setting. It almost felt surreal given its idyllic postcard-like athmosphere. The staff was very attentive from the moment we arrived and throughout our entire stay. All our requests were executed with great care, and always with this smile which proved to be a distinctive characteristic of the people of this area.
The day of the wedding, anxious and equaly excited, we walked into what turned out as the most magical set up we'd ever seen. It was clear at that point, that this day would become by far the most memorable experience of our lives. A very moving ceremony performed by two Buddhistic monks took place right next to the beach, where flowers and draperies were meticulously arranged. Shortly after, the catering staff received us with delightful bites and cocktails which was only a foretaste of what would be served later that night. From then on, surprises kept coming unexpectedly as the day unfolded. A team of photographers as well as a film crew were covering the entire site, all prepared to capture the momentum that was about to come. Kandi dancers arrived, followed by jugglers, fire eaters, musicians and acrobats, All performing their traditional acts with a great deal of dedication and enthusiasm. The sky was filled with flashes of detonating fireworks, like a messenger announcing the news of our union to all the residents of the surrounding area. We were both ecstatic!
Every aspects was treated with a great concern for perfection and casual elegance. We cannot thank the organisation enough for the privilege we had to experience such a wonderful moment.
With sincere gratitude
