Paris is generally expensive and if Hilton Opera is the high luxury, Hilton La Defense is more affordable and only few metro stops from the center. Price & quality are a perfect match, the room is quiet and bed comfortable. Only concern...they did not have the fresh french baguette for Sunday breakfast. Staff is professional.

Room Tip: High Floor

Dear Stefano R,

Thank you very much for your comments following your visit.

I am glad to read that you found overall a great value to our property despite the lack of baguettes at breakfast on Sunday and hope to have the pleasure to welcome you back in the future.

Best regards,

The room was very clean and the staff quite helpful. We appreciated the addition of the rollaway bed to the family room. In this hotel, the family room is two double beds (which can make sharing between siblings uncomfortable). The breakfast is standard fare. The accessibility to central Paris by train as well as to rental car places outside the heavy traffic of Paris places the hotel in an ideal location. So why just an average rating for a place with so many pluses? I expect a Hilton property to be well-located and have a wonderful staff. There were some items that I do not expect specifically: The bathroom tile was chipped (and grouted to fill in the missing pieces) and the vanity scratched behind the towels which suggested heavy or rough use. There was also a missing dimmer knob in the bathroom (I don't know what it does).

Room Tip: The family room has two narrow double beds. Request a roll away when staying with kids.

The main reason for staying at this hotel was so we could attend the huge U Arena and be back in our hotel quickly. The area around the hotel is very modern and essentially you are part of huge development incorporating shops and restaurants The Hilton is key in this major development which had the feel of Canary Wharf. I found the complex a little soulless and the thing I love about Paris is its winding avenues and beautiful buildings - in this part of Paris there is none of beautiful city with all its gorgeous attributes. However as said, I was there for the U Arena. The Hilton was large and neutrally decorated probably only been open 2 or 3 years. The staff were attentive and very friendly on check in and all spoke excellent English. My room was large with a work area obviously catering for the business traveller. I was comfortable in the room and the bathroom was fine to. The bar downstairs served food as well as alcohol and there the staff were quick and the service was good. That night after our concert (believe it or not we came to see The Rolling Stones) we got back to the hotel about midnight and the bar area was busy and the staff valiantly served lots of British Stones fans with good humour and alcohol. The bar kept serving till 1.00am (not bad at all) . In the morning there was two breakfasts on offer the continental and full English I went for the British option and its was fine with a good selection of food and teas and coffees. Check out was fine and we headed back to the UK happy we’d chosen the best hotel in the area which would help with us getting to the U Arena. I grabbed a taxi to Gard Du Nord and from that section of Paris it took 45 minutes - so you are outside of the main attractions of Paris out in this part of the city. I would not of chosen to stay in this urban concrete jungle part of the French capital but felt the folks at The Hilton did well and enjoyed my stay (and The Stones!)

Room Tip: Grab a room in the front for great view of piazza

If you need to be in this area this is a reasonable hotel. Has a small fitness centre which was ok. Breakfast was good with freshly cooked eggs and good service. If you are intending to use this as a base for Paris it about 30 mins by metro and just under 2 euro
