If you are looking for an idyllic setting with sun and pool this is the one. The view is sublime, we just stared out at the lake for hours. It did get pretty hot when we were there (fair skinned, not used to sun Brits), but you could dip in the pool and the house always had a cooler spot where you could curl up and read a book.

Lin and Geoff were perfect hosts. Although they live on site, both parties have privacy. They were very welcoming. They also make sure you have basic foodstuffs so you don’t have to dash out for food as soon as you get there. The well-stocked fruit bowl was a lovely touch.

Geoff built the house and it is done to a very high standard. Much better than most purpose built holiday homes.

The local area is very pretty. Small villages dotted along winding hill roads. This is not a very touristy area and is not highly populated, but it has all the basics. Don’t expect swanky restaurants and bars. I have to admit it did seem strange having to buy our ‘treat yourself’ holiday foods in Lidl as there were not many other options. So perhaps it is not an area for foodies, but we fared OK and we didn’t end up spending a fortune.

This is the place to come when the world has got on top of you and you just need to stop and relax - oh and have a bit of fun with Lin and Geoff’s two friendly dogs.
