We had a lovely week's stay in Bridgend House. Although the house can comfortably sleep five, there were just two of us and yet the house still felt very welcoming and cosy. The house is well appointed to a high standard and "the living is easy". For us the location of the house was perfect as it is within easy reach of many wonderful golf courses where tee times were easily arranged and - oh - the fresh sea air was a tonic. We would definitely return to this house . We only visited a fraction of the local golf courses and have many more to try so we are already looking at dates in 2014!

Having stayed at the owners St Andrews Coach Houses we were expecting this accommodation to be of equally high quality and we were not disappointed.
As usual the owner, Maggie, was really helpful providing a high-chair for our wee one and ensuring we had all the info on what was nearby and going on locally ahead of our stay. The property was easy to find and not too far from the other coastal villages but a good 20 minute or so drive to St Andrews.
The property itself is a traditional cottage that has been refurbished to a high standard with lovely bathrooms and a modern kitchen. Because it's an older building the rooms are big and airy and there are nice touches like window seats downstairs to look down to the harbour area etc.
As with Maggie's other properties everything is spotlessly clean and organised - there's none of the five different types of knife and fork rattling around a drawer (and a complete absence of a corkscrew for that bottle of wine) that you get in some self-catering accom! And we enjoyed slumping back in the reclining sofas with said wine after a long day out too!
Lower Largo itself is fairly quiet although the hotel seemed popular enough and the food there was pretty good with the staff being very helpful and friendly.
Overall we had a nice little family weekend away and would definitely recommend Bridgend House.

Bridgend House is an immaculate property just a few yards from the beach in Lower Largo. It is an older property but has been thoroughly redecorated in a contemporary style. The rooms are spacious, particularly the kitchen/dining room and the master bedroom, and having 2 separate bathrooms is excellent for families.
The house is situated in Lower Largo in the East Neuk of Fife, one of the most picturesque parts of Scotland with lots of charming villages and the lovely St Andrews in its north eastern corner. There is a hotel and pub within yards of the front door, with more dining options within walking distance.
Overall a fantastic and highly recommended property

A stunning and striking house in the quiet and picturesque coastal village of Lower Largo in Fife. The property has been renovated to the very highest standards, was clean, airy and homely with many thoughtful touches such as luxury toiletries provided for visitors, children's fishing nets for family rambles along the beach, lunch boxes for picnics, soft, fluffy towels, DVDs, games and a plethora of useful information on where to go for days out, meals etc.
Brigend House felt like a home-from-home the moment we walked through the front door. It was warm, cosy and inviting with great views over the harbour and across to the Firth of Forth.
Villagers were friendly and chatty and while Bridgend House has no internet access and mobile reception was sporadic, the nearby Crusoe Hotel was happy to allow us to piggy back on their wi-fi. Having said that, it was a real treat for a week not to be a slave to the laptop and mobile.
Lower Largo is within easy reach of the rest of East Neuk with its stunning sea views, long windswept beaches, hills and attractive coastal towns such as St Andrews, Anstruther, Pittenweem and Crail as well as Dundee.
Even in late October/early November there was plenty to do and when the weather turned foul we had a beautiful house to return to.
We can't recommend Bridgend House highly enough. Without doubt it is the best self catering home we have stayed in with an impressive attention to detail aimed at making your stay as pleasurable as possible. It's ideal for families, couples and friends - indeed anyone looking for a get-away-from-it-all retreat that doesn't skimp on the mod-cons.
My only quibble? We couldn't stay on for another week!

Bridgend House is beautifully appointed with every amenity you may require supplied to a very high standard.
The owners go out of their way to make sure you have a wealth of information before your visit to allow you to plan the stay to your best advantage. Maggie even phoned us during the weekend to make sure everything was ok - a high level of customer care that was much appreciated as our party ages ranged from our grandaughter at 6 to father at 90!
Lower Largo is a lovely clean, friendly village with surprisingly good local amenities.
Plenty of places to see and visit with excellent restaurants all around.
