The food was very nice, and good value for money, the place is charming and elegant, but the service destroyed the whole experience. The young guy was very kind and professional but the person that seemed to be in charge was clearly not at the level of the place. She seemed to be upset we are there and she has to bother with us. They were also cleaning while we were there eating... What a pity...

We went to Le Saint Julien having heard much about it and were not disappointed. The restaurant offers a good Set Lunch Menu at a decent price. Our starter was white asparagus, wonderful. We then enjoyed a fish main course and I will not forget mine in a hurry as it was absolutely super delicious!
The restaurant is pleasantly airy and our waiter and waitress both were helpful and friendly. In all, a pleasant experience.

Maybe they were busy with two groups, maybe it was a bad day for the person doing the greeting and servicing the payments, but we left disappointed. Not from the food, mind you. They started by bringing us a delicious emulsion of cauliflower “to help us waiting”, elegantly presented in a shot glass. This was followed by appetizers: Salade Mozzarella, Di Bufala et Truffes d’été (tender mozzarella covered with slices of truffles) and oysters from Saint-Vivien du Médoc , both appetizers exceptionally good. For main course we had Agneau de lait à l’ail doux, gratin de pommes de terre (baby lamb cooked with tender sweet young garlic and accompanied by gratin of potatoes) and a delicious pork cooked exactly as requested. We drank a bottle of Cotes de Provence Rose and delicious coffee. I would have rated them excellent if service were up to par. On the way out we noticed a lovely vegetables and herbs garden bordering a pretty walkway with vines.

We were recommended to have lunch here during our tour of the nearby vineyards. While the food was excellent (the foie gras ravioli, the peppercorn steak, the amazing apple pie w ice cream and a refreshing pineapple smoothie-like dessert), the service was terribly inconsistent - swinging from being ultra polite to our baby son, to giving us the cold shoulder. One wait staff even got pissed when we tried asking for tap water with our wines - he actually refused to serve us any water unless we ordered Evian. Awful service.

Visited on a busy weekday lunchtime. Restaurant almost full with members of Bordeaux wine trade and tourists. Great value menus --we had 38 euros -offering excellent innovative dishes well presented and well cooked , Extensive wine list ( to be expected!) but at all levels of price from sensible to dramatic!! Excellent friendly efficient service. Outdoor terrace still closed at the moment but open in summer months. Would highly recommend . Think booking essential.
