I've been very disappointed with my stay at this hotel: we booked a night because of all the good reviews, but did not get the experience we were expecting. As we arrived, we realized that there was a wedding happening in the courtyard of the baglio. The host apologized, saying it had been a sudden request and that she was unable to let her guests know of it, saying she would amend with a free cocktail.
In the end here's what happened: we were lodged in a room in the adjacent courtyard, loud music went on until well past midnight, we never had our free cocktail and we never even had our Booking "genius" free welcoming cocktail. We were presented our bill at the end as if nothing had happened.
I understand a wedding event brings much more money than an overnight guest, yet I believe the hospitality industry should be respectful of all the guests nevertheless. I would have felt more respected if they had told me in advance, offering alternative staying options in the area. It would have been a much less awkward situation for all of us.
This said, the property looks nice, the rooms are small and minimalistic, the food at the restaurant is just ok. The only thing that shines is the breakfast with fruit, charcuterie, cheese, cereals, juice and a vast choice of desserts.

Dear chiya_serena,
we are very sorry that you dind't enjoy your stay at Baglio Donna Franca and we would like to reply to your comments.
The request for the wedding reception came from out of the blue, even less than 24 hours in advance, this is why we didn't inform you, not because we wanted to disrispect you or any of the other guests in any possible way.
For what concerns the cocktails, we believe that it's not correct if we decide when and how a guest should have them, so it's up to you to order them at your convenience, and you have never ordered them, this is why you have never had them.
We hope that in the future you will give us another chance in order to change your mind.
Best regards

This agroturismo is really something special. The ambient and the views that you have are just breath taking.
We stayed in a room with sea view and the vineyards. It was worth of every euro. Everything about this place is unique and special. The restaurant for breakfast and dinner if you want is really magnificent. It looks like a church and the personal is really nice and friendly.
You also have a swimming pool and of course you have to try the vine.
If you can plan your stay here. It was our last day in Sicily and we were flying from Trapani, which is really close.
Good job guys!

The baglio is very large and the rooms also very large. The bathroom was as large as a lot of hotel rooms. (It needs a curtain in the shower as water goes everywhere if not extremely careful). The food is excellent in the restaurant. The winery tour is similar to a small winery anywhere, but the difference in the story of the local wines and the commitment to keeping the tradition of the old wine of the local area alive. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The town of Marsala nearby (?) was interesting as was the visit to Baglio Anseimo (Punic Ship), Museum Risorgimento and the Island of Mozia.

This is an attractively renovated large baglio (fortified farmhouse) build around two large courtyards. Our room and bathroom were ample in size and well-appointed but it is a baglio so the walls are very thick and the windows small - the airy courtyards more than make up for this. The hotel is located in a vineyard but the surrounding area is not the most attractive: it is flat and the surrounding villages a little scruffy - however, the baglio is a lovely oasis within this and comes with an excellent swimming pool. Reception was helpful and friendly. Water in the mini-bar is free of charge which we appreciated. The restaurant is excellent for both breakfast and dinner (just as well as it would be a 20 minute drive through country roads to Marsala and other good restaurants). There are free wine tours on offer and they look interesting (although we did not go on one as we are teetotal). The WIFI works reasonably well. The rooms have air conditioning albeit we did not need to use it. There are several cats and puppies and a dog, which have been abandoned there by locals and the staff look after them (and occasionally a guest gives them a home, we are told). Essentially, this is an excellent place if you want to relax in a lovely, comfortable hotel with good facilities - but it is a 30 minute drive to any sights.

Room Tip: The rooms vary in size and attractiveness so discuss when booking.
