We only had a night's stay here and loved loved loved the property, its location, the beautiful views and amazing areas to swim - salt pool, fresh water pool, and a lagoon. The grounds are spotless and from the moment we arrived with a party of 10 and requirement for 5 rooms we were very very happy to stay here.

We realized the property was a Starwood (now Marriott) and didn't know that when we reserved. We were comforted to know a certain standard would come with being in the group and the rooms, beds, and accommodations were lovely too. The bathrooms were large size, ample closet space, a large size room with king bed and balcony. Our entire family loved their rooms and from check in to check out they were impeccable in their handling of us. All the rooms were assigned properly, they provided us with a few upgrades to honor our Virtuoso status. The pool bar was fabulous with amazing fresh peach bellini's, pizza, snacks and what not. The beds were comfortable. The sheets and linens as only you can get in Italy.

I'd recommend this hotel if it weren't for their main restaurant and the food. Ugh. In fact we'd review the hotel as a 5 but the restaurant a 2 so I rated this a 4 but could be harsh and do a 3 especially at the room rates we paid. At $1300 a room inclusive of dinner and breakfast the food ought to be a home run and it was a downright disappointment.

The outdoors buffet area by the pools looked like a cruise ship, uninviting even though a beautiful outdoor location. There were flies in and around everything and it didn't look inviting so we snacked at the pool bar which we loved.

At dinner time we came with our family and it was americanized Italian. The food was a 2. First there were too many waiters swarming and no continuity of service. When we ordered several of us wanted the lamb on the menu only to be told it was veal that night. But our grandson received beautiful rack of lamb chops and we were wondering why the rest of us were told the menu didn't accommodate when it was on the menu. We didn't get a decent answer.

It was hard to get wine service to coincide with meal service so we were constantly eating out of synch with the wine and which type of wine was arriving at what course. They offered to do anything changes to the menu - I asked for my lobster w/ pasta to have a wine and olive oil/garlic based sauce and no tomato sauce. I got the tomato sauce but without tomatoes. Ugh.

The linguine with lobster was inedible with the lobster chunks chewy. Three of us who had that dish pushed the lobster to the side of the plate. The veal mllanese while tender was just a breaded chop that looked right out of the Flintstones. Huge, browned and breaded with no arugula, or tomatoes on top and I had to ask for lemon. Not traditional at all.

Others in the family ordered the fish which was OK but frankly after 10 days in Italy and every meal being authentic and fabulous, we felt the food and restaurant experience was a 2. The starter was a buffet of salads, charcuterie, breads etc but again the flies were everywhere. Unappetizing and not ideal to have half a meal off the buffet and half off the menu. Breakfast was no different. The eggs were runny, smoked salmon and frittata, flies buzzing. Hard to get service. Just sub par at best.

This property and its guests deserve a better dining experience. The bar was fabulous. The drinks and waiters exceptional. The pool bar same. But the main dining room right off a cruise ship and it felt Americanized and weak. It would be the one reason we wouldn't go back to this hotel and in fact our family LOVED the place until we ate there. We are very discerning and this should have been better especially since the property and restaurant location are superb.

I would recommend the hotel but suggest eating off property. It is really a beautiful beautiful property and it's a shame the dining experience doesn't live up to everything else which is just so spot on.

This was our nd visit to the hotel and for those travellers seeking the highest standards of service, in a superb location, you need look no further! This is one of the most delightful properties around, where the staff are so well trained and friendly. The deluxe, sea view suites are faultless. The beach restaurant is superb. Although there is an extensive menu, they will literally cook you anything you want. Another benefit is the dine-around facility, where one can eat at their sister properties (Hotel Cervo, Cala de Volpe and Pitrizza. Book full board, which is good value. It is certainly not exactly a budget property, but it is quality at its very best. Faultless! Antonio Marini, the Front Office Manager, has been running the property for over 20 years and he has done a remarkable job.

Room Tip: Best room and suites overlook the ocean. Book these.

The restaurant by the sea has a fixed menu for 200 euros per person that includes an open buffet but not the drinks. So we preferred a lighter option at the pool bar. The food is ok but the service a bit slow. Looks like a nice hotel but mostlyit is a beautiful sea spot.

this property is beautiful.
we stayed in 2 villas while here, both were fabulous.
720 is very nice & private. amazing views. beautiful villa. we moved out of that one because of a noisy construction project next door property. there was never an issue - luckily another villa was avail - the GM, Asst GM, head of housekeeping, all swooped in to manage the change. they even let us sleep on the decision of whether to move. they also fixed a problem w the AC right away. amazing service.
730 a little less private, same villa. views from upstairs. still great.
the service is exceptional. from the GM on down - everyone wants you 2 b happy. you can feel it.
the food is good. not great. get pasta & a grilled fish. very nice. we got full board to make it easy. order simple & it's fine. the fancier dishes don't really deliver. we found this to be the case at Cala de volpe too. lunch is the best meal.
a lot of people complain about the price. it is expensive. the service, setting & 3BR villas were certainly of a quality befitting the price imho.
that said, since it's not so crowded while we're here - a suite in the hotel would be fine. the pools are barely occupied & there's plenty of chairs & drink guys everywhere. we never waited for anything. I'm sure it'll fill up as summer proceeds.
if you're a spend the day at the beach type you will love this place. the beach is idyllic.

Room Tip: villa 720 is amazing. villa 730 is also amazing, but less views.

The Romazzino is a lovely hideaway in Porto Cervo's famous blue n green landscape. However, as a hideaway should be, quite remote and also isolated. In order to avoid boredom, a rental car s highly recommended! The island and its wonderful beaches are worth to be explored. The Romazzino 's restaurants are fine dining using fresh and high quality ingredients, simply over the top. Perfect place f weddings and romance weekends. Guest age was rather high when I visited, certainly due to the higher price level. I somehow missed younger couples...
