This really is a beautiful hotel, and to a genuine 5 star level. On arrival in our car we were whisked to a lovely outdoor lounge area for a welcome prosecco whilst our car was parked for us, and our baggage whisked up to our room. No queuing to check in here - the receptionist came to us to complete the formalities whilst we enjoyed our drink.
Our room was delightful with a lovely view over the bay (tip try to get a sea view room if possible). Bathrobe, slippers, toiletries all provided as you would expect in a fine hotel.
The buffet breakfast was possibly the best I've ever come across in a hotel. Everything you could wish for is available, and the chef prepares any egg dish to order - a real delight.
The pool area is stunning, the gardens are on a slope, so the pools (4 small and 1 very large) are interconnected by waterfalls with 2 waterfalls cascading into the main pool. There are (very comfortable) loungers in plenty and I doubt if they are ever in short supply even when the hotel is full. The pools are on a wooded slope, so the loungers around the smaller pools are in intimate clumps with loads of shade if needed. Apart from the pools themselves there are large lawns and flowerbeds all around, giving a wonderful ambience.

To get to the beach is about a 5min walk, out of the hotel, across a car park and down a short stretch of road. The beach is smallish, but the hotel has a private roped off area with sunshades, loungers and a lifeguard/attendant. Very pleasant to lie and admire the millionaire's yachts anchored offshore.
In fairness I have to say that food and drink prices are quite high in house, and unless you want to pay a fortune in taxi fares I would suggest that a car is well nigh essential. There are plenty of restaurants within a 10min drive, and also a car gives flexibility to see all the sights.
Most of the cliental were Italian which was lovely - not many Brits during our stay. Whilst some families did have young children (who were made very welcome), it's worth pointing out that there aren't really any child specific facilities that we were aware of.
Finally! We've been lucky enough to stay in many lovely hotels such as this; but what really does give this establishment the edge are the lovely staff. Everyone from the Manager down to the chambermaids and gardeners were charming, cheerful and incredibly helpful. They really are an asset beyond price.
Very highly recommended.More
