Warm, friendly welcome to a charming hotel nestled in a cove 5 minutes away from the actual town of Porto Cervo,( for those craving "branded" everything with boutiques offering luxury goods dedicated to catch the eye of those yaching billionaires.) Going a little early in the season meant no traffic jams, no big yachts and no problem getting into the local restaurants.The hotel deluxe sea view offered a room with a decent size balcony from where to enjoy the hot Sardinain Sun or the fickle whipped up winds. Breakfast was a bounteous buffet served by long serving courteous waiters and the suroundings offered the privacy, elegance and level of comfort we were seeking. Being early in the season definitely added to our enjoyment as we were never rushed, left without pool chairs or waiting for a table in a restaurant. A delightful mix of the old and new. Staff and management really helpful and the setting idyllic for early walks on a deserrted beach. Great for visiting the surrounding sights whether the Maddelena Islands or Pantaleo up in the mountains. Front desk helpful with every detail. Would definitely return.

Room tip: Deluxe seaview a good choice here.

We had made reservations for Sardinia over the last 10 months and I was most worried about staying near/in Porto Cervo. It has such a different feel compared to the rest of the island and I was very turned off by the high prices at big properties in the area. Colonna Pevero is by no means a cheap hotel but this property in our mind was certainly a great hotel. The pictures both from other travelers and from the hotel website do not do the property justice- it has one of the most beautiful pool setups we have seen in all our travels. And the breakfast and lunch buffets that come with most room setups were the best we had in Sardinia- unbelievable selections of antipastos, vegetables, fish, meats, breads, fruits, etc. We did not get the dinner plan based on TA reviews we had seen and since we had a car it was easy to get around. Other travelers are correct that the best restaurant nearby was a little terrace restaurant overlooking the bay outside the back of the hotel called Il Pulcino- a MUST visit for the most reasonably priced dinners in the area. Some TA reviews are very negative on the beach area tied to the hotel, and it was small, but still had beautiful turquoise water if you needed an escape from the pool area. Plus if you have a car, spend your afternoons at the pool in Colonna Pevero and your mornings at some of the great beaches nearby- we loved spiaggia del principe which was 20 minutes by car. The best part of Colonna Pevero was the concierge/service. A big thanks to Paola, the manager and especially Christina who went out of their way to help us with dinner suggestions, beach suggestions and help us with rental car return issues. We stayed in a terraced room and it was a very updated room on the top floor of the hotel- but the pool area was so beautiful that we were never on the small terrace. We loved the property and although Porto Cervo was not our favorite part of the island, this hotel was a great property.

Room tip: top floor seemed to be very updated- concierge at the hotel were the most helpful we have found in our travels

First yellow water was coming out of our shower.. I had to wait for 30 mins and was late for my dinner.. After dinner we came back and there was no water in the bathroom.. They brought us a bucket of water.. We basically could not use the bathroom.. So much for a 5 star hotel. The flush wasn't even working and the AC was so hot.. The worst hotel I'v stayed at ever.. The worse start to my honeymoon..

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your experience on Tripadvisor. We fully respect your feedback although we have to say it does not reflect the true facts and evidences. We remember we upgraded you to a lovely room on the very top floor with sea view.
In fact one night in August there was a failure on the main water pipeline and the local Authority had to solve a problem. Water was cut for a few minutes and when it came back it was a little bit yellow. But just letting run the water for a few minutes, everything went back to normality. Of course beeing on a very top floor it took a few minutes longer. We can see from our checklist that we sent the night porter to the room to fix the Air conditioning as by error it was set on "Heating". Our goal is always to provide an excellent guest experience and the primary mission is to ensure all our guests receive a heavenly stay. Please accept our most sincere apologies for any downfalls in service you experienced. We would be pleased to welcome you next year maybe for your first anniversary and make your stay a very special one. Best regards Paola Mancini - Hotel Manager

In general a good hotel but with very low customer focus and low value for money
We stayed during one week July 2016 and the location is very nice and great breakfast and lunch,,,,, But the rest is not much ;
For example ;
1 Every day when we return to our room after breakfast, the cleaning lady do not leave the room and let us use in room in privacy. We have to ask here to leave the room and come back later – the impression and attitude from here is that we interfere her job

2 We ask for champagne to the room and the reception staff forget about it and then send it to the wrong room. We have to call again and ask were it is ?
One day later – we ask for champagne again to the room, the answer is that they are too busy to take any orders and will call later ?? and do not call back !

3 More or less every day it has be no or little drinking water in the gym, today it was completely empty and no drinking glass. In addition some of the gym equipment do not work as it should ( example cross walk ) and I also advise you to install AC cooling the gym.

4 We ask for a connection core and extra plastic bags ( laundry ) to our room – still no action or feedback from your side

5 Service staff to not greet or show any “ happy smile “ when you meet them, worst is the staff in your shops, cleaning staff and the members from the Maserati team ( but excellent staff in the restaurant breakfast and lunch area)

I must admit the these kind of deviations in a top star hotel with a high daily rate is really not acceptable and a complete lack of customer focus, they really need to work and improve within these areas.

One other thing also, regarding see view – they have a great view from the hotel, the problem is that you can’t enjoy it when you sit in the sun chair in our room, you only see a concrete wall.

Mail have been sent to the hotel dir with promise to reply - still no answer after 3 days.

Room tip: The room with terrass have a concrete wall - do not chose this - you will not see anything
