Can't believe the two previous reviews, as the treatment of our tour from the Staff was excellent. The food was well prepared and I didn't hear anyone complaining, in fact the opposite is true. The bar staff were pleasant to us as were the dining room staff.
Our drivers asked for our opinion of the Hotel at the last evening meal and it was a 100% thumbs up. Yes I would stay there again no problem. The only downside is the distance from the lake at Riva, there is a bus but we opted to walk there and back.

Room Tip: Rooms at the rear have incredible views and overlook a fast running stream.

We stayed at this hotel which was booked through National Holiday who we cant fault the drivers Ivan and Keith were great and they looked after us well. But the hotel was not great it was clean but the meals were very small, one night we had been out on a trip on the coach we were about 5 minuets late down for dinner our starters were on the table when we got there then a rude member of staff came and put our main meal on the table before we had finished our starter. Most of the staff were really rude. We were sat in the lounge area at night having drink with friends and having a bit of a laugh I think it was the owner came over and told us to be quiet then she turned the lights out on us and closed the blinds. I would not stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: Second floor rooms have good views

Cant fault the cleanliness but staff apart from one young waitress were totally unhelpful. On holiday with National coaches so vegetarian option had been requested. However, Senior management seemed to find this difficult. Even chips were not an option and pasta ok if you liked it filled with sausage meat!! Senior staff need some training in hospitality, lacking in manners and civility I would never stay again. Furthermore Reception is not manned for most of the time and keys are left there whilst guests are out.. Too many "DO Not" notices eg don't have microwaves of coffee machines in rooms or take refreshments out of restaurant!. We were on an all inclusive holiday with a free bar from 8 till 11 but even the rules for this were confusing and staff seemed to change the rules each night.
Whilst sat with friends socialising shortly after the bar closed at 11 pm we were appalled to find staff turning of the lights and drawing the blinds.

Room Tip: The hotel is on a busy noisy main road. Also at night the corridors are only dimly lit so difficult for the older or infirm person..

LOCATION This hotel is 2 miles from Lake Garda/Riva. A bus leaves from just outside the hotel for Riva at 5 minutes past the hour. bus fare is E1.25. Taxi fare is E10. A small bar & coop are nearby for nibbles & wine etc - just aim for church which is well worth a visit. Bank and ATM there too.
HOTEL The size of rooms, layout & number of beds varies - so pot luck prevails. There is a lift to all floors (G,1,2) . No tea/coffee making facilities in room. No clock either. Rooms are basic, furniture good, many rooms have a balcony with fabulous views. The management attaches great importance to cleanliness and tidiness throughout the hotel. The guest rooms in particular are cleaned etc to an exceptionally high standard - hats off to the two conscientious and really friendly cleaners. Food is simple & unimaginative. Breakfast is basic continental. Evening meal is adequate with limited choice but small kitchen does well. Vegetarians are not initially well catered for (i.e. cheese) but when asked, the chef tried to accommodate but had limited resources and time to work with. No 'V' on menus - language problem here but David (server) did very well. Cheap and decent wine with meal. There is a noticeable 'falsely friendly', less than enthusiastic and at times intolerant attitude by some staff, but hopefully this is simply end of season blues (end of September). There is a security problem with the free wifi so always logout and not use remember password. The 7.30 am peel of bells from the local church is amazing.
IN BRIEF This is an efficiently run, very clean, no frills hotel and is a perfectly adequate base from which to explore the stunningly beautiful Lake Garda . . . . . . . . and beyond. Yes we would go again.

The hotel itself is old fashioned, the rooms are ok, no lights on the balcony but clean and functional. The food is appalling, catering on the cheapest possible scale, three small pieces of processed cheese and a small pile of frozen chips were one nights main course! packet soups, no fresh fruit and you are made to choose the night before what "delight" that will be placed before you next day. The worst, the very worst, was the attitude of its owner! Never in 50 years of travel have I met such an unpleasant person, if it was the bus party, the English, or just older people she loathed I wasn't sure, but she made no effort to disguise it, she was barely civil and turned the lights out on me one night, at 11 pm when I was just sat reading in the reception area as she wanted to go home! Go anywhere else.

Room Tip: Don't go there at all
