My husband, toddler, and I stayed in Cipresso for a week in May 2016. The property exceeded our expectations and we enthusiastically recommend it. We had all the necessary modern amenities in a charming, rustic home. The home was very clean and well taken care of, and we slept very well. Claudia was super-easy to work with, and made sure all of our questions were addressed quickly.

The property is pretty isolated and quiet, but very close to Spoleto. We took easy daytrips to Assisi, Norcia, Todi, Spello, Bevagna, Montefalco, etc. We loved the abundant animal life, both wild and on the farm. The two dogs were as sweet and gentle as could be and it was very fun collecting eggs from the chicken coop in the morning. And the views, olive trees as far as the eye can see!

We had to keep an eye on our toddler when we was outside as there were some rocky steps and other minor concerns. There was a bit of noise from the unit above, which someone who wants absolute quite should know about. Also, there is a short walk uphill to the parking area, which shouldn't be an issue for most, but if you have trouble walking, you should inquire further. None of these were issues for my little family - just things folks may want to know about.

Be sure to ask Claudia and her family for a tour of their fabulous estate, just across the valley.

All in all, great trip and I highly recommend the property!

Our first visit to this magical place was September of 2012 and we went back again June of 2014. On both occasions, we (family with 3 kids) stayed at the Casa del Cipresso which we highly recommend if you're travelling with young children. The pictures on the website are a true reflection of the rooms and views and even better was the hospitality of the hosts Francesco and Claudia. Whether you choose to cook a meal at home (with the veggies from the garden) or sample the nearby osterias (Da Sandro is our favourite), you'll have plenty of options. For a special treat, we had the gourmet dinner option which Maria prepared and it was one of the best dinners we've had!

There is quite a lot of privacy on the grounds although if you like to interact there are opportunities to do so with the other guests. Its no surprise that they have many return guests and we will certainly be going back again before too long!

We (family of five) had two great weeks in Pianciano. Accommodation was perfect, very comfortable with all conveniences you would expect. Very friendly host, great area to vacation in with lots of things to do and see and fantastic nature. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed a lovely and memorable stay here in May of 2015 as a family of 7 adults and 1 baby. Pianciano is truly a magical hamlet set above the hills, with views of the sparkling lights of Spoleto in the distance. The location is perfect for days trips exploring all of the wonders of Umbria, and the house, pool and grounds are also perfect for those that want a day of relaxation "at home." Staying in such a warm and inviting house also lent itself to many wonderful meals - prepared together as a family, with all of the comforts of home available to us, but perhaps our most delicious and memorable meal was a special feast prepared by Maria, not to miss! Our hosts and the staff were so accommodating, and made us feel right at home! We were especially appreciative of a bed for the baby! We would love to return again one day to enjoy this beautiful, serene place.

My wife, young children, extended family and I stayed at Pianciano (Casa dell'arco) for a week in late summer 2015. The setting - nestled on a hillside among olive trees and overlooking the valley - was unbeatable. If you close your eyes and think of a picture of Umbria, this is it. It was a pleasure to wake up every morning to the sights, smells and quiet sounds of the country. Though located outside the city, the property is in driving distance of the main attractions of Umbria, such as Orvieto, Assisi, Perugia, Norcia, Gubbio and, of course, Spoleto. The accommodations - though in character with the rustic setting - were extremely well cared for and included everything that you'd need (even if traveling with young ones), and the thoughtfulness and hospitality of the owners was second to none.
