We stayed in Casa Primavera for one night and I think this is a good bet in Volterra.
Volterra is really very small, so what looks like a location outside the city wall, it is only a 10mn walk from the main bus stop, where buses from Florence arrive.
This place is located just at the end of the main street.
La Primavera is a B&B, runned by Silvia, that received us very well at our arrival.
The rooms have independent entrances from the main house, and are quite big, clean and comfortable.
This B&B had a very cosy and informal feeling, but it seemed very organized and prepared for its guests, which is the perfect combination for me.
Although we had to leave very early in the morning, before breakfast hour, and didn't have time to warn Silvia about this, she was nice enough to arrange for us a very nice breakfast in only 5mn, so that we could get to the bus in time.
If I was to return to Volterra, I would stay there again.More
