The hotel is in the town centre and you can look the lake directly from your room window. It's amazing! My room was clean and comfortable; the breakfast was very rich and tasty. All the staff was extramely nice and helpful. Next time I'll be in Desenzano, I'll pay a visit for sure!

We were there at the end of August. The hotel is right on the lake and Desenzano is a great little town with really good public transport connection. Breakfast was nice and the staff were very helpful. The only little downside to mention was we got the four bed room at the back of the hotel facing an internal patio, which meant we didn't have hardly any natural light and obviously couldn't enjoy the lake views. Also, we noticed that the room was not as nicely decorated as the other outward facing rooms. They did try to find us an outward facing room but because it was high season it would have meant spending time in different rooms during our stay so we decided to stay put. But this doesn't deflect from our positive recommendation for Hotel Mayer.

Room Tip: Make sure you are not allocated the room at the rear i f possible

We decided to book the hotel after having read all the positive reviews. The hotel delivered above all expectations. Fantastic, helpful staff in the reception, exceptional cleaning and good breakfast. Very good location with just a few steps to the ferries. Highly recommended.

My wife and arrived late to Lake Garda and didn't know where to stay. We checked online and decided to go eat first in Sirmione. After dinner we called Hotel Mayer. It was late and Paolo who answered was extremely helpful. Upon arrival we were greeted by both Enrico and Paolo who helped us to our room. Enrico even parked our car for us. Paolo informed us that if we wanted to extend our stay that another room with a balcony would be available and that the staff would be happy to move our luggage after we left for the day.

The following day we decided to stay another night and we were greeted by Guendal'na who was friendly, informative, and service minded. She arranged tickets to Gardaland and gave us tips for things to do in town.

Breakfast was delicious and having fresh pressed orange juice and a made to order cappuccino on the patio over looking the lake was the perfect way to start the day.

When we return to Lake Garda we will definitely stay at Hotel Mayer.

My wife and I stayed here for three nights in July. The location, in the old part of town next to the ferry dock, is outstanding. The staff were enormously helpful. The breakfast was good and included gluten-free items. The room was nice; the air conditioning essential. We waked to the hotel from the train station; it is downhill all the way and we pulled two small roller suitcases.
