The falls are considered the widest in the Philippines. In fact there are a few cascades of the falls which makes them truly spectacular. In December the current was not very strong so it was easy to enjoy a refreshing bath in the falls. Great fun. Slow motion. Not a lot of people. A bit challenging to get there as the road from town is not very good and it’s not near but well worth the visit. One of the highlights of the region!

From Hinatuan it is a long way to get to the Tinuy-An Falls but it is really worth it. Very beautiful falls. Don't miss the chance to get up to the top! And you should also rent a raft, because that's the easiest way to get directly under the falling water. But be aware that it can hurt. ha ha ha Really big fun!!! Both thumbs up!!!

We went there late in the afternoon and there weren't many people so it is a good place to go when you want to think and be one with nature. Takes about 30 mins of motorcycle ride from Bislig City and the ride was bumpy and a little uncomfortable. The scenery is still worth it for me though.

We were 10 adults and 8 children visiting the falls. The driver drove us from Butuan to the falls and it took 4 hours to get there. The road was bumpy and muddy with holes many places, so you can't get there without renting a car or if you drive in your own car. You can not get there by tricycle or bus. But when you are there its worth while to see the small falls and of course also the big falls with possibility of rafting and the big falls sends out a foggy rain because of the strong pressure from the water. The entrance costs only 50 pesos for adults and its free entrance for children.

Tinuy-an Falls is one of the main tourist attractions of Surigao del Sur. It has four levels, the most majestic of which is the third (which is what you see in the pictures attached).

The falls are 55 meters wide and 95 meters high. You can actually go under the cascades on a bamboo raft, which you can rent for Php 150. On the upper levels you can enjoy a cold shower under smaller but equally powerful blasts of water.

To reach Tinuy-an, take a bus or van going to Mangagoy in Bislig. It would take you around 5 hours to reach the place. The best thing to do is to find an accommodation there. I would recommend the Casa de Babano (tel. 0926 7597277 / 0925 7451945 / 0868531297) for its low price, good food, and videoke bar! Then, on the following day, rent a motorcycle (for Php 1200 each per day) and visit not only the Tinuy-an Falls, but the Enchanted River in nearby Hinatuan as well.
