Very comfortable small hotel. Well-located near the ferry to the main town, and just a few steps from the string of excellent restaurants along the front at La Chaume.

The breakfast is very good value at 8€. Fresh croissants, bread, cereals, jam, cheese, ham, yogurts and fruit.

We have a Volvo V70 and managed to negotiate the tight turn into the car park, which is locked, so could leave things in the car securely.

The "season" was finishing as we arrived, so the beach loungers and bars on the other side suddenly disappeared! End of first week of September, they just shut up shop, whatever the weather, and the locals celebrate by drinking the bars dry!

The restaurants stayed open for the time we were there, and there were still plenty of visitors, although the weather did change, so maybe there was a good reason for pulling the shutters down?

If you plan to visit when it's lovely and hot, I'd advise you to take a fan or hand fans at least, to cope with the lack of air conditioning.

The hotel is located in the Chaume district, a very chilled and village like surrounding. It is easily accessible by bus number 4 and 6 (quite practical if you're arriving by train, though beware that buses are 30min to 1 hour spaced), or by the little ferry (Departure every 3 minutes) connecting the main city center to the Chaume district. The ferry fare is 1.10 euros and you can find 10 trips passes for 8 euros at the Press or Tabac shops.

The staff is nice and helpful and welcomes you to their house-like hotel. Rooms are charming and decorated with a marine and home-feel atmosphere. You will find all the basic commodities that one can require except a hot kettle or a fridge. Rooms are clean and well equipped. Beds are comfortable and made every day. The admiral room has a baby bed (and a teddy bear) in case you are travelling with a toddler. You will also find a couple of books (French and English) in case you forgot to bring some literature.

The hotel is a 2 stories high and is only accessible by stairs (no elevators). There are however accesses to persons with reduced mobility.

The surrounding is very calm and you can hear what's happening in the street and in the nearby bars (specially in summer with windows open).

It's a stay that will make you feel at home and that is worth a 3 stars hotel. Totally recommending it for budget and non budget travelers.

Room Tip: Second floor rooms are very nice!

Very friendly people. Bedrooms are very comfortable. Hotel has true character, beautiful rooms with hand stitched room numbers and other hand crafted decor. Ideal for a short break a short hop on the bac from all the restaurants of Les sables d'olonne. Only slight suggestion - eggs at breakfast would have been nice!

Warm welcome and very helpful management, situated in the area La Chaume just a short and inexpensive boat ride from the delightful town of Les Sables d'Olonne, the hotel style is wonderfully eclectic , decorated with great style and inspiration.
Travellers may find the myriad of narrow streets of La Chaume a bit tricky but at least many of them are "one way " and that makes them work reasonably well , this was originally a fishing community and had no need for wide roads. The hotel has limited secure parking with access from one of these narrow streets and it is better to reserve it, as a guide we got in with a Laguna Estate and much praying - any car longer than that could be problematic, there is official public parking not far from the hotel.
We both thought the hotel was better than the star rating it carries.

Room Tip: Several 2 nd floor rooms have nice views , over rooftops, of the harbour ?
