This really is a unique property, located well away from the touristy little town of Saintes Maries de la Mer, with individually designed rooms, mixing caravans, sheds and very clever design ideas, located and situated around waterways, creating a truly natural style of retreat. With black and white swans swimming around, the famous Camargue white horses roaming free the environment is wonderful.
The food offered was stunning, a genuine eating experience, sadly though the overall experience didn't quite achieve the same level, only small touches and adjustments needed, but when you are charging high rates, you should be ticking all boxes,
I would say a great destination for a 3 day stay.

Room Tip: Caravan room, with a high bed, accessible from one side, small. Patio room which was a few touches away from fabulous.

Charming place with cosy rooms, immersed and surrounded by nature, relaxing, calm, peaceful and beautiful. Good service, staff friendly with an energetic toddler. The restaurant is a little overpriced for dinner but there are plenty of other choices just a few km into town.

If you like birdwatching and l'art de vivre á la francaise, it's definitely the place to be. We spent two days at The Mas de la Fouque. The spa staff was extremely amiable and professional. The massages were worth it. They allowed my husband and I to spend a whole hour in the outdoor jacuzzi... Pure bliss ! We took a stroll in the Camargue, before enjoying a very nice meal at the restaurant. Our room opened onto the pond with the sun setting right in front of us. The staff, along with the director of the hotel, were warm and welcoming. We strongly recommend !

My husband and I stayed at Mas de la Fouque for 4 nights over new years eve. I am currently pregnant almost 8 months, so finding a relaxing destination appropriate to the doctors recommendations was not very easy. When we booked Mas de la Fouque we were curious to see how our little getaway would turn out.

We are extremely satisfied!! The service was just amazing and it was exactly what my family and I needed.

Our room which was in the main building was beautiful with a great terrace and view!

We also enjoyed very much the common areas of the hotel. We played some board games by the chimney at night and enjoyed playing with our friend Marious the parrot, such a sweet and funny bird. He does not bite, sometimes he will nibble or try to hold on to your finger with his beak for balance (he can't fly) but he is not mean and he won't hurt you.

We stayed a lot in the hotel, almost ate every meal there, even on new years eve when the kitchen was supposed to be closed for lunch they managed to fix up something for us, they are truly wonderful when it comes to service. Mr. P. Royeux is extremely attentive to detail and won't let anything go unattended. I have to say that I was not an easy customer when it came to food (Pregnant and Toxo negative) and still they managed to smile at me and be kind with all my requests. They went out of their way to make me feel comfortable.

Did I mention we traveled with our Pets? An energetic Weimaraner and a rabbit. Mas de la Fouque welcoming pets was another big positive point for us, the rabbit was comfortable in our room while our dog happily explored the natural surroundings.

Room Tip: Our room which was in the main building was beautiful with a great terrace and view! A little noisy since it is above the reception and play room area, but it did not bother us much, however if you want quiet you should stay at an exterior room.

Dear Madame and Mister,

What a pleasure to read your comment. Thank you for having chosen this place to come and relax with your family during 4 nights and also celebrate your New Year's eve here.

We are very delighted to read also your compliment about the staff who is devoted to your comfort.
To say that our hotel "surpassed our expectations" is the best reward that you could attribute us.

You seems also to have appreciated coming with your pets. Everyone is very welcome at the Mas de la Fouque.

As you say Marius our famous parrot is a little bit teasing but i will never hurt you he is really a lovely bird who loves to be with people, then he can make is show.

Hope your pregnancy going well and we wish you all the best for 2015.

We look forward to welcoming you back.

Your sincerely

We were rather nervous on approaching the hotel. Saintes Marié de la Mer is a holiday resort town and not very inspiring. The hotel is completely different and unexpected and first glance is not totally reassuring. However, our rooms were wonderful, with terraces onto the waterways. Modern, with huge bathrooms, comfortable beds and good wifi. To my amazement, (first time have ever seen this), Lapsang tea was available. The swimming pool was very well done, with "natural" chlorine ie no smell. The staff were immensely friendly and helpful, and fabulous bird song. There are short trails through the fen, with plenty to see. Sadly we were only there for one night, but could easily have stayed longer. The hotel obviously organises bird, boat, riding trips.
