This is a wonderful hotel on so many levels.
From the attentive staff who make you feel so welcome and at home (Specifically Johnny and Elizabeth -thank you) to the details on the room that show they have gone above and beyond, to the beautiful decor and finishes.
Our room was gorgeous and the bed and linen were exceptionally comfortable, the toiletries are luxurious and copious, and everything was spotless.
They even opened the spa the next morning early for us. Nothing was too much trouble.
Breakfast is as a hotel breakfast should be, an interesting spread for buffet and your choice of hot breakfast.
Our experience from start to finish was exceptional, we will definitely be back.
Thanks to Peter and the team.
P.s. Bahji- The hotel restaurant, served some of the best Indian food we have had in a long while, highly recommend!
The whole team at the hotel are fabulous. Every member of staff is helpful and friendly and goes above and beyond. The breakfast was wonderful and the vibe around the hotel was really welcoming and warm. Elizabeth and Vicky were great with recommendations for restaurants and anything else we asked about including an excellent hairdresser. Richard (I think) the bar manager, who seemed to be everywhere, was lovely and excellent at catching your eye just when you finished a drink so you didn't have to wait long for your next one! And last but certainly not least, the host with the most Johnny, who brings his joie de vivre to the whole place.
You can also rent skis from Mad Wax which are brought straight to the hotel which is so convenient and he's a super nice guy and very helpful.
Largely peaceful and quiet, rooms on the first floor can hear the live music or a particularly spirited evening in the bar but it's not a major issue. There is a spa which do treatments, the pool is lovely, the steam room is exceptionally hot though so watch out for that, and the sauna was a little hit and miss , during our stay we were never there when it was turned on. It would be good to have someone on the Spa reception as we never saw anyone down there to ask about things.
I do hope that the owner manages to reunite this wonderful team every winter season, as they are the unique USP that makes this hotel stand out from the others in the area.
Thank you to Pete, Jonny, Richard, Elizabeth and all the amazing staff at the Chamois d’Or in Les Gets for yet another fantastic stay. The hotel itself is warm and welcoming and the bedrooms are comfortable, clean and well equipped. Beds are super comfy!
The Spa is a must visit at the end of a day on the slopes as is the bar which serves great cocktails and is always lively, especially on Wednesdays when there is often a live band - don’t miss it!
The breakfast is superb and sets you up perfectly for the day. Baaji, the attached Indian restaurant, is a great option for dinner if you want something a bit different.
Location is also excellent - a few minutes walk from the Chavannes lift from where it is an easy ski over to Morzine and the Portes du Soleil area via the Super Morzine.
Thank you again for another great holiday. See you next year!
Thanks to owner Pete, head of everything Johnny, restaurant manager Richard and all the staff for a wonderful stay. The hotel is incredibly welcoming, the rooms are really comfortable and clean, and the attached Indian restaurant is great. The spa is a massive bonus after a day’s skiing too. Breakfast was so great we never ate lunch… and the bar is a fun place to gather at night. Highly recommend - and see you next year.
An interesting hotel with plenty of potential. Rooms are clean, bathrooms good, plenty of hot water. Breakfast efficient, plenty of croissants and a choice of eggs, sausage and bacon. Breakfast chairs seem better days, bar seems to be full of locals which is good, unless you want to get near to it and feel important as a guest. Spa small, sauna not turned on. Front area a bit scrappy. Wi-fi more like dial up. Could be great as it’s in a really good spot, just needs some more structure to its operation and attention to detail.
