“Excellent value and excellent hosts”
Reviewed 22 February 2015 for a stay in February 2015

We were a group of seven, four adults and three teenagers. We stayed in the lower chalet and there was more than enough room for us. The chalet is not high end luxury but it is homely and had everything you need for you stay whilst skiing. Steve and Eleanor, the hosts, are very friendly and very helpful. Although it is located out of the main village of Samoens there is a bus stop right outside and in the evenings, if you require a lift in to town, either Steve or Eleanor will drive you there and back. The journey takes five minutes. This is our sixth year at Samoens and we have previously stayed in the higher end luxury chalets but this year decided to budget a bit. I would thoroughly recommend Chalet Sougey for those who wish to enjoy the Grand Massif in a homely, clean and well hosted chalet.

“The Perfect Ski Retreat”
Reviewed 18 March 2014 for a stay in March 2014

Steve and Eleanor provided myself and my 4 cohorts with the most relaxing and fantastic long weekend if skiing. The apartment we took was lavishly spacious and comfortable. Our hosts continually went out of their way to be helpful and generous with their advice and offers of lifts in and out of town making it no issue whatsoever that the chalet was a little out of Samoens. Really couldn't recommend Chalet Sougey and the Samoens resort enough.

“No frills but first class, attentive service”
Reviewed 26 February 2014 for a stay in February 2014

We have just returned from an enjoyablel week staying in the lower chalet of Chalet Sougey. The best thing about it was Eleanor and Steve. Kind, attentive hosts who couldn't do enough to help us make the most of our stay. All rooms were pretty basically furnished. Kitchen could do with some some larger sized glasses. English TV was appreciated. Eating and drinking together in the kitchen was convivial. Bathrooms worked but again simply done. The chalet was always warm and cosy and the real fire a treat. Steve and Eleanor are experienced hosts. Instructions and payment arrangements were smooth and trouble free.

“Cosy Chalet, very relaxing location”

We visited for 4 day trip. The Chalet is approximately 1 hr 15 mins from Geneva so on our last day we skied till 3 in the afternoon and took the evening flight home. The Chalet was comfortable and convenient. We have been skiing for years and tried a lots of places and different styles of accommodation. We've stayed in ski stations in France such as Morillion 1100 and Avoriaz and done self catering. We've stayed in Hotels in Zermatt, Aspen and Banff. We've done catered Chalets in Val d'isere, Meribel and Couchevel and we enjoyed our stay in Chalet Sougey as much as and even more than some of these other option. Steve and Eleanor were helpful and we valued there insider knowledge of the area. They ensured ski hire, shopping and nights out to the village were easy. The ski area is one of the best places for young children to learn and build confidence. We hope to visit again soon.

“Very obliging”
Reviewed 22 January 2014 for a stay in January 2014

Stayed here in January 2014 with a small group.
Chalet was roomy and rustic.
A bit far out of Samoens so a car needed or local bus.
Our hosts were most obliging, helpful, and unintrusive.
