It can be a dream, very high up in the moutains, incredible view, sitting outside in the sun having lunch.
The menu has enough choices, the food was good, the hamburger and fries tasty. Good cafe gourmand. Service was friendly but got overwhelmed after many people arrived for lunch around 14:00. The wait suddenly was much longer, too long.
So come around 13:00, that should work better.

Good selection of salads and traditional favorites . The mozzarella salad was good , home made diots very tasty . However the home made onion soup was poor , pale white onions not browned delivered a bland watery result . Service is friendly and prompt and the atmosphere cosy and classy mountain style but at these prices everything should shine

While the food at Le Caribou was passable (and of a similar standard to other ‘on the mountain’ restaurants, albeit considerably pricier), the service marred the whole experience for us.

It took ten minutes to take any order from us, and my attempts to politely flag down a waitress were met with a dismissive wave while she went to attend to something at the bar.

When we then ordered one burger to share and an extra order of fries, the waitress’ expression turned incredulous and we were told that next time if we wanted only a snack we should have had something outside.

(This is in the context of us spending close to €50 between the two of us - I find it hard to read this as us being inappropriately thrifty)

Personally I’d struggle to recommend - skiing five minutes down to Val Thorens would yield similar but more inexpensive food with more friendly service.

A nice altitude restaurant accessible with your skis on.... friendly staff albeit very busy! The food was good and reasonable priced.

Stopped for early lunch at 12 and were lucky to get a table.
Typical mountain restaurant, cosy central fireplace and nice ambience.
Waiter lovely - service quick and food excellent and reasonably priced for 'on the piste' dining.
Our kids rated their linguine carbonara and crepes as the best they've had during their 2 wk holiday in the 3 Valleys. My salade italienne was delicious, and my husbands burger du maison was also rated the best he's had this holiday.
Would recommend a lunch stop here. We'll be back next year!
