I have visited this pub on a number of occasions over the past year and it has never disappointed.

Most recently, I went for a family dinner. The service was brilliant from the moment we walked in, with very friendly waiters/waitresses. The food was timed well, and was very good, especially considering the reasonable price range.

A lovely atmosphere inside, with a good sized beer garden, this pub is good for all ages.

Would definitely visit again.

Having grew up a matter of meters away I have frequented this pub on many occasions. Previous manager (Andy vickers) maintained a very well run local yet visor friendly establishment yet the new management have changed some pointless aspects in an effort to personalise or make a statement and this has led to a few disappointing meals. Sad :(

Went on a Sunday eve with friends for a lovely Sunday roast but were left very disappointed. The food took over 45 minutes to arrive and no explanation or sorry that food had taken so long to arrive. 2 meals had to be returned as veg was stone cold, the meals on all plates were luke warm but the roasties were so over cooked they were hard to eat. The pork roast said it came with stuffing however only 2 out of 3 pork roast had stuffing and 1 had crackling, The yorkshire was tasteless and very crispy. Overall a very bad roast. We had to prompt them to remove our plates after they were just left on the table and then were told we had to wait 20 minutes for a pudding. We had already been there 2 hours so said no we would take the bill instead. No one came to take payment so had to go to the bar to pay and no real compensation for the terrible meal except a voucher for a free £12 meal - don't think any of us would want to come back for this! Should of stayed at home.

Arrived 6.30 on a sunday. Order taken soon after and then waited over 50 minutes to be served. (Reminded that we were there, after 45 minutes, as no-one advised there was a delay due to being busy). Food was cold and had to go back. Roast potatoes overcooked. As was yorkshire which being so large made the plate look full. Being busy was not a valid excuse. Waited a while for plates to be removed. Told that desserts would take another 20mins so didn't bother. Had to pay at bar as no-one came to take payment at the table. When asked by the bar staff on paying if everything was OK, I explained all the issues. She kindly gave us some vouchers, but doubt if we'll be back.

Popped in on route home from work
I have visited this pub before but only in the evening and only for a drink
Had my two daughters with me and we decided to have a light supper
Sat at the rear of the pub in a courtyard garden as the weather was sunny
There are tables out to the front as well but they are towards the car park
There is ample seating inside either restaurant side or in the comfy booth areas with pillows

The fish finger sandwich was super
proper cod gougons in lovely thick bloomer bread and chunky chips on the side
One daughter had the vegetarian ciabatta which she enjoyed
The onion rings were a little on the greasy side and quite thin but the rest was lovely
Decent prices too
Will Happily return
