Last year I came to the Hotel and Kurhaus for the first time and my family and I had an amazing time. Last week (June 2015) I came there with a group of 25 US college students for a study abroad "Medicine, Microbiology and Health" and we had the very best experience. The hotel is historic and beautiful, the environment is gorgeous and the hosts, Christoph and Viola, are priceless. We ate there 2 nights and the food was excellent, accommodating dietary needs of our students. Our day was packed with a great guided tour to one of the most beautiful Kneipp areas (about 15 min walk), a visit to a local farm, hiking, exercising on a Vitaparcours and playing on a great "water" playground. After asking for an opportunity to immerse in local culture, Christoph organized a local Yodel group to perform for us in the evening at the Kurhaus. It was a real blast and something the American students had certainly never seen before. We were treated excellently and we are certainly coming back next year. What a gem and off the beaten path in the heart of Switzerland!

Room tip: The Stalin room has probably the best view of the mountains and a beautiful porch.

This hotel is different from what we have used to but its good option if you want to experience the deepest of alpes. The road here was amazing. Although its a bit far from everything and you should not come here if you are in a hurry.

My friend and I visited this quainte hotel for 2 days and were absolutely in love. We were greeted by Krzysztof, a man who will do anything to make your stay as perfect as can be, and he did just that! He runs this hotel with his family and really makes you feel at home, right down to the home cooked meal specially made for whatever you're in the mood for. The Swiss Alps are right in your backyard, ski resorts are right around the corner, and there are plenty of hiking trails around to explore the beauty of Switzerland. Krzysztof was also kind enough to provide us bus passes to get back to the train station and to the town of Sorenberg. Most importantly, this hotel was amazingly affordable for everything that it offered and we were on a hostel budget so that is saying a lot! One thing to note is that this hotel is haunted, so be aware of that going in. Other than that, I highly recommend this hotel to everyone and anyone!

We were a group of family and friends with couple of small kids.. The place was reasonable to stay and we didnt have any discomfort.. Couple of our special request have also been agreed and that made us feel at home .. On one of the days we chose to have dinner in the restaurant there and it would rate as good.

My friend and I visited this beautiful hotel a short distance from Lucerne for two nights.
On arriving we were greeted by Christof who was very kind and generous throughout our stay and gave us an upgrade to a larger room with our own bathroom which was a lovely surprise. We also had a ticket for free travel on the bus in the surrounding area which ran hourly.

All the staff were very friendly and made us feel at home. We had only intended to stay one night but because of how beautiful the area was and great the hotel we decided to stay another night which we told them the next morning and they were happy to arrange. Rene was very helpful to give the information we needed regarding things to do and the sights to see. When we inquired about the possibilities of skiing nearby he explained he was a skiing instructor and would be happy to take us at an incredibly cheap price!

All in all a fantastic experience, staff went out of there way to make our stay enjoyable. Would recommend it to everyone!!
