Certainly the best meat restaurant I have been to in Friuli Venezia Giulia. The owner specializes exclusively in serving "chianina" meat - the purest of beef with the lowest fat content from Tuscany. By purchasing the entire creature, each evening there is a theme night concentrating on a particular cut/area of beef.

The day we went we were served from raw and tartar to the grill. Several dishes were served in between and ended with what I should define as the finest "fiorentina" I've eaten. All this served with excellent wines to match.

What can one say. When you see such passion put into food you know you are onto a good thing.

And by the way...... the the owner is an expert on The Who and has worked with the BBC regarding the band!!

I can speak specifically from an experience of visiting from outside of Italy, my husband and I are from Los Angeles and had an incredible experience here. The passion behind this restaurant and all of the preparation is that anyone who truly appreciates quality of beef would dream of. If you are even remotely in the area and you have a passion for beef, this is a must stop.

Come with your stomach completely empty because you will not want to leave anything uneaten, but there will be far too much delicious food to enjoy -- all paired beautifully and prepared expertly before you.

This dining experience sits right up with our finest dinners in Paris. The value is beyond what any Los Angeleno can comprehend. We have profound respect for the owner and what he is doing here. Apex of humanity!

The resturant is quite incognito and located well off the beaten track in Udine. But from the moment entering the experience is amazing.
Had a full course dinner where everything from the Prosecco and cheese starter to the beef tartar and the main course and dessert provided experience after experience.
This resturant is not for anyone not into rare red meat. However the way the meat have been prepared is as the best Italian food simple and with lot's of taste.

This restaurant is excellently serving top class beef servings together with the best wines from Tuscany. Only a few restaurants in Italy serve the original Chianina beef. The menu is fixed, dinner starts at 20:30 and indulges until after midnight, you get served a number of cuts and delicacies, in a rustical atmosphere.. When you try it once you'll come back.. If you like top class meat.
It is not a steak house, it is a place where you get meat of extreme quality served raw and cooked in perfect way!

Went here with a friend from Udine a couple of weeks ago (he confessed later that incredibly he had not heard of it after 10 years of living in the area). Actually we went twice in 4 days so I think you know where this review is headed.

Da Irma is an apex dining experience. You cannot expect better.

Sit back and eat course after course of the Chianina that the Maestro serves you coupled with an exquisite assortment of (probably Super) Tuscans.

On the first visit, the Maesto served us a male Chianina. On the second it was a female. In the space of 4 days we ate the same meal from start to finish. Amazingly the second was even better than the first. I will be going back to see the Maestro when I visit in November.

All I am here to tell you is that Da Irma is an unforgettable experience that should be savoured. One of the best restaurant experiences I have had in Italy or anywhere in the world.

Make the journey to Ruscletto just to eat here.
