From Bamberg bahnhof, we took a taxi to the hotel, only 10 euros. The hotel is situated in an old building but the room was spacious. Great coffee making corner, great wifi, big bathroom. Great coffee was served during breakfast. Can walked to all the attractions. The best part was viewing Bamberger DOM, Neus Residence, Rathaus and the Little Venice. We walked around and saw many lovely, old historic buildings, each with their own unique architecture. No wonder Bamberg has been declared an UNESCO site.

It was hard to believe that this building was over 600 years old. For years it worked as a mill but some 20 years ago they made a hotel there. There was a very limited space in that old buildings, but a decent hotel should provide a garage for the customers, therefore they arranged a very clever garage with a carousel and a lift for cars – take a look at the photo. The hotel room itself was quite big but rather old furniture was not comfortable. Wi—fi worked disappointingly, but breakfasts were very good, the staff was very nice and cheap cold drinks were available in corridor fridge (including beer!).

We had a delightful stay here. Very quaint hotel. Lovely room with beautiful furnishings. Windows opened onto the very quiet and picturesque street, in both the bedroom and bathroom.
Staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was excellent. Easy walking distance to all attractions. Love to come back.

The Altstadthotel Molitor is situated directly in the old town in a remodeled 15th century mill, one of the town's oldest and was easy to find with our GPS/Navi. It is a quaint, convoluted building with several staircases and a number of rooms. The reception is very tiny and attended only during daytime. There is a small elevator for handling the luggage. We got room 340, a 2-room suite very well equipped and furnished with 2 small sofas, reasonable sized desk and excellent bedding. The affordable (10euro) in-house pay parking needs to be reserved in advance. Breakfast was of a very good variety overall, excellent on cheeses - they even had our favorite "Caprice-des-Dieux", and all customary breakfast items, but no eggs. Most of the things of interest in Bamberg can easily be reached by a short walk and there are plenty of eateries nearby.

The hotel is central, but - in contrast to typical central hotels in Bamberg - it's very calm. You can reach the park and almost every sight by walking. The rooms are nice and clean. There is a fridge in the hotel where you can get drinks and note what you take on your own - so the hotel owner totally trusts you (what I appreciated a lot).
The breakfast is very good and the staff working there helpful and polilte.

It is not very cheap to stay at Molitor, but if you don't mind spending a little more money for a good quality, this hotel is the place to stay!
