We arrived at the hotel at 3:30 PM, and no one was about, so parked the car in P1 (Free). Went back at 5:30 and met Sylvia. Our room was small, clean and very noisy due to the proximity to the railway line (Had to keep the window open due to the heat as small aircon unit was ineffective). However, despite this the comfy bed made for a very good nights sleep. As we had to manhandle the cases up to the 2nd floor via narrow stairs I would not recommend for the less able bodied.

We stayed here for four nights, 2 couples, 2 motorbikes. Friendly, family run hotel, we were immediately given use of a garage. The hotel is clean and comfortable if a little dated and excellent value for money....we paid 60 Euros per room per night B & B. Nicely appointed breakfast room, the buffet breakfast had an excellent selection including bacon and scrambled eggs. The Sonnenhof is a 5 minute walk from the train station, 2 minutes from the town square and 5 mins from the Rhine, so is a great location from which to explore Boppard and Rheinland! Negatives...rooms alittle dated and small but comfortable. Our friends' room was slightly larger, but the bathroom had limited head room as they were in the attic rooms.

Stayed at Hotel Sonnenhof in Boppard along with a couple of friends in early June 2010.

The hotel itself is pleasant and very near the railway station (actually, seeing Boppard's pretty small, everything is convenient!) and just off from the St Severus church. I stayed in a double room which was sizeable and comfy. The bathroom was a little tiny but more than adequate. Bed and pillow were very comfy. Air con was available in the room and much needed given the temperatures while I was there!

Breakfast was a buffet with hot food (bacon, eggs) and traditional German fare (cold meats, cheeses, crackers, etc.). Most tasty!

Only down side was that I booked through Rates 2 Go at one rate and was then contacted to tell me the rate was not valid, which I thought was poor. Between the time I booked to the time I had to confirm at the higher rate other accommodation disappeared and so I was kinda stuck. This seemed to be the hotel's fault rather than Rates 2 Go though, but I was disappointed to have this happen.
