In the centre of Champery lies the cosy and inviting gastro pub 'Le Nord'. One can eat Swiss/French classics like steak tartare of salade chevre chaux, however the chef also makes more culinary still delicious dishes. Lovely staff and perfect atmosphere. Highly recommended

As luck would have it, we happened upon basque night at the Nord. Starters of Pinxos (a kind of bruschetta) with anchovies and cheese and chorizo (not together, obviously) was simple and very good. Main course of little squid, stuffed with something like sausage, and served with roasted veggies and a touch of tomato sauce, was excellent - not too rich and very tasty. The wine was recommended, and from the French Basque region smooth and a little fruity with a tannin finish. Overall an Excellent meal with a lively crowd getting really into the basque thing. The best evening in Champery we had :-)

Went three times during our week in Champery, including for our wedding anniversary. Been before and as always, the traditional food (roestis, fondue) was perfect, but we were surprised this time by some much more modern dishes - and they were very good indeed. Particularly good was the pea veloute with green tomato "tartare" and goat's milk and wasabi ice cream. Service was warm and friendly, with the waiter comfortable speaking English with my wife or gamely understanding my rusty French. There aren't too many places to eat in Champery, but this is the best we've been to and I thoroughly recommend it.

Haven't been here for 9 months. New menu, new staff. Not all positive I'm afraid. The gravlax salad lunch was nice but at CHF 25 a plat, it was pricey. The rest of the menu was a bit bland to be honest. Could have don without the bowl of cream it came with. We also had a boule of ice cream each, a bottle of water and two gravlax salads. cHF 69 in total. Not cheap. Shame.

Recommended by a vintner on the Rue de Corniche, we all enjoyed our dinner and local wine. The restaurant is on the "main" road, and we sat outside to enjoy the weather ... the location is nothing special. 5 of us tried different selections, and we each thought we had ordered the best entree:) Having just arrived from Spain, we found the prices a bit expensive, but, as many travelers note, Switzerland is expensive.
