I had a delightful, highly memorable stay at the Engadinerhof while visiting the area with friends on a ski trip. The owners, Bertram and Corina, could not be warmer or more welcoming, and will make you feel at home right away. The hotel itself, with its simultaneously grand and intimate wood-paneled salons, and its winding staircases and hallways adorned by pretty carpets, is just full of charm and authenticity. The breakfast offers much variety, while the prix-fixe dinner — utterly mouth-watering from the first course to the last — is simply the best deal in town. The hotel’s pizzeria downstairs is also excellent. In fact, after browsing the menus and peering into the windows of every restaurant in town, and trying a handful of them, I came to the conclusion that Engadinerhof’s restaurants are the two best in Pontresina. All in all, this place is a real gem that is not to be missed!

We arrived here on sunday eavning and left on the next sunday. We had two rooms, one with a bathroom and one without. The ”bublic” bathrooms and toilets were super clean and nice. No complaints!

The atmosphere here is the thing why we always come back. The stuff makes an effort to remember your name and your preferences. They greed you with smiles and listens to your worries. They make you feel that you are special, not just one of the others. Also the owners are wonderful. They make you feel welcome to the hotel.

The food here is also very nice. The breakfast has multiple options and everyone should find something to eat. There are 7 types of bread, eggs (scrambled and boiled) sausages, many types of could cutted meat, salmon and huge selection of jams and marmalades.
Not to forget all the yogurts and cereals. They also bring you your drink of preference to your table.

The “abendessen” was always well made. There was a soup for starter, a salad buffet (a huge one), the main course and dessert.
The waiters always had time for small talk. Everything was well organised and the food always came at the right time
To the table.

I would higly recommend this hotel for someone, who likes to feel welcome and have a peaceful week or two. It is suitable for families too. I have been travelling to Engadin area for maybe 10
Years now, and this hotel is one of the places that I always return. The location is very good too! The buss stop and the train station is near. This is one of the best places to experience the alpps.

We stayed at the Engadinerhof in September 2017. I will always stay here if I am in the area. Bertram the owner goes all out to make your stay enjoyable and personalizes your stay. He pays attention to the smallest details and whatever you need all you do is ask and they help. The moment you walk in you are personally greeted. They helped us with our travel plans, which trains to catch to our next destination, and helped with sights to see in the area. The room was super comfortable and not only the room but the hotel itself has old world charm and character. I highly recommend eating there the meals are fantastic. The breakfast has so much to choose from everyone will find something they like. The evening meals are 5 star quality and the staff in the dining area work hard to make your meal perfect, everyone knows you by name and you are treated like royalty. I love the community area where after meals people could get together to play an assortment of games, relax, enjoy a drink. Some nights they even have live music. I really don't know why you would stay anywhere else, you cant get better! As you leave the owner says goodbye personally and a small treat is given to you.

Room Tip: I would think all the rooms will be equally as nice

I spent a week for hiking in Pontresina and lodged in this hotel. It offered several types of rooms, starting from low priced simple rooms to modern and also to lush traditional rooms. I had a modern room and the price was very good value for Switzerland. The hotel's common features (lobby, main hall, restaurant) are with impressive old but perfectly maintained wood panels and furniture - you feel back in the old days. The welcome in the hotel and the service also offer the best of Swiss hotel tradition. As an additional bonus you get a free pass for all public transport and - in summer - for all mountain rides. The hotel comes up to every promise made on their website.

Thoroughly enjoyable, comfortable hotel, accentuated by impeccable service. We selected one of the spacious, wood paneled, older rooms (Nostalgia Room) with a massive tub in the bathroom. Loved it. "Old World" charm continues on the main floor of the hotel that includes a library, card room, and dance floor, all of which are in full use in the evenings. The selection for the breakfast buffet was, by far, the most varied and complete we found anywhere in Switzerland. Access to public transportation is excellent; the hotel is just a block from a bus stop. The hotel provides a free transportation pass for buses and gondolas in the valley, a great deal.

Room Tip: Full variety of rooms are shown on the hotel website.
