Jay N Bee Cafe
Ranked #2 of 2 Coffee & Tea in Palompon
Restaurant details
Reviewed 22 April 2013

There are many places to eat and drink in Palompon. My two favourite places to hang out and have a beer or two and maybe something to eat are Franz and Jay N Bee.

They are both located close to each other, by the sea in the market area. Read my separate report about Franz Café.

I have been living in Palompon or regularly visiting since 1994. I visited Jay N bee in 1994 and have been eating or drinking inside regularly ever since.

It is one of the best value for money places to eat and drink in Palompon. For about usd $2, you can get a meal and a beer.

Do not expect a high class place, This place is all Filipino style. It is not air conditioned. The bathroom is a small cupboard with a toilet and a bucket only. Hardly any room to turn around. Be careful if you are wearing long pants as your pants are likely to end up wet from the wet floor. There is no toilet paper and of course the floor is wet from Filipinos washing them selves.

Food is ordered from the counter then you choose a seat and they bring it to you.

You can sit inside or outside.

It is right by the sea. You can't access the sea as the café is right on the sea wall and has a low fence at the edge of the sea wall. But you can sit at a table by the fence and enjoy the view.

The view is of the pier and the marine sanctuary. There has been a motor yacht docked at the pier for several years . Owned by Captain Bob. It may not be there when you go there but for me, it has become a permanent fixture. So, if the motor yacht is docked, your view will be of the motor yacht directly in front of you and to the side of the motor yacht to the right will be the pier, where you can see boats coming and going and to the left of the motor yacht will be the Tabuk marine Sanctuary. Where on a nice day, you will see tourists touring around the sanctuary on their small bangka boats (out rigger boats)

Jay N Bee is nearly next to the tourist office waiting lounge. So, if you have a while to wait for your tour, you can pop into Jay N Bee café.
