A warm welcome (professional warm not creepy) met us at this pleasant traditional pub. We had reserved a table by email and it was waiting for us even though we were 15 minutes early. Several large family groups in ahead of us but we were served promptly and efficiently but some friendly staff members and everything arrived just perfect. The half price child portion was a really good size too.
Food was simply presented and just right.

Our older boys had a go on the pool table (in another room) for 60p which they enjoyed very much while I drank some of the best coffee ever. I love a place like this where they are so confident in their coffee they say ‘it’s a cafetiere’.

A happy experience.

This is a very nice pub/ restaurant with a lovely bar and friendly staff ,we visited on a Tuesday evening around 6 so the place wasn't busy . Ordered 2 starters and 2 main meals we both ordered pasta for the main ,my wife had Chicken Tagliatelle which she said was good however my King Prawn Linguini the pasta was well over cooked in fact the pasta was a mush and the peppers were also over cooked . The portions were generous but all in all very disappointing

Visited one lunchtime with the dog as the pub is dog friendly.
Husband had Gammon & chips which was a large portion & the chips were delicious.
I had the sea bream with pan fried garlic king prawns & spinach.
However I asked for a portion of chips instead of new potatoes.
Excellent as always, food is amazing & excellent value for money & always made to feel extremely welcome. Thank you again!

My partner and I have been here a few times now and will definitely be returning. It is a small, family-run pub with a very welcoming atmosphere and good food.

We were impressed that, the second time we visited, the landlord remembered our names from the time before - that doesn't happen often!

The restaurant has some beautiful views over the dale and we are really looking forward to summer so that we can sit outside and enjoy the fresh, country air!
